I’m not buying anything from Tesla ever. If they can afford to pay their greedy CEO $65 billion they can sell their overpriced junk from China a whole lot cheaper.

I decided to not install solar because it was 14 year break even period.

I just don't see the value proposition making any sense for most people this is a beyond luxury good right now and while its cool to have energy security in case of crisis those crisis are normally the type of thing that would damage a roof.

Numbers don’t make sense…
Lease is worse …. But cost of laying out money that you could invest vs actual con ed bill is ridiculous .
Some say payback of 12 years or even worse 25 years is crazy.

I was quoted last week on a 3,900 sqf roof at $270,000. includes 1 battery and 13kw amount of active tiles. A similar solar set up would be 38k. Though i would still need to install a new roof.

Basically, what i need to figure out now is how much sale value the solar roof can add to a home. If it has a good mark up value, then the investment can be more appealing.

I just got a quote on a 6187 sq ft one story house roof replacement for $336k, less 93k tax credit, net cost $243k

I was recently quoted in Virginia, by American Home Contractors, for a 4200 sq.ft roof replacement for Tesla Solar Roof, at 17 kW and 2 Powerwalls for $240,000. Basically the price in the past four years has gone from ~$21-$25/sq ft to ~$57-$60/sq ft. Ridiculous.

Get it to $40k and I’m in.
