First Time in Costa Rica!! COSTA RICAN STREET FOOD Tour in San Jose!!

Some of the dishes are similar to food markets and the flavors of fruits are amazing. It is my first day in Costa Rica (San Jose). So I may take a taxi 🚕 tomorrow to this place

Costa Rican food is so bland and boring. They're like the Brits of Latin America. You have to go eat the Nika food and all the other people's. You go to Costa Rica to see Costa Rica not to eat the food 😂

Absolutely loved this video. You definitely tried to cover as much as possible and show lesser known dishes, which one really loves even more than the famous ones and that's amazin... you show that it isn't just gallo pinto and casado...one could come with a list of dozens to hundreds of different dishes that capture the essence of my country, at least this one that is mostly the gastronomy of the Central Valley and neighboring regions.
I see you made another video about Nicoya (food from Guanacaste province), a different and delicious food tradition, so I'll definitely give it a look. Caribbean food from Limón province would fill another program. I just love the food from my country.

Tortillas or any taco type meal are not native to Costa Rica. Costa Ricans copied(adopted) tortillas from Mexico 🇲🇽 and Guatemala 🇬🇹.

gallo pinto is just rice + beans, not a plate with different components. If you order a gallo pinto alone, they'll just serve you the rice and beans

just amazed that you seem to have gone everywhere on the planet to do food, great job by the way, but nothing on the worlds greatest BBQ country, Argentina, home of Asado, Milanesa and from what I heard a lot of Italian visitors say, the world's best pizza and Ice Cream, not to mention Malbec

Ps: You have to be careful of some of the ingredients; they love to use "Magi" which is full of msg & artificial dye, and stuff full 🌝 toxic red dye 40, like the chorizo or some of the desserts you tried😮 (sends me & my husband into A-fib!)

The gallo pinto is from Nicaragua, white rice and red beans, en Costa Rica is white rice and black b eans with red Peppers and Cilantro, and they called Pinto.

Pinto is the name of Cota Rica rice and beans. Gallo pinto is original from Nicaragua, which is made of white rice and Red Beans

If you're considering Costa Rica as a food destination, you may be in for a surprise.. Been living here many years, and what I've seen is that San Jose - The big Central valley metropolis which contains nearly 90% of the country's population, has not been able to sustain many good quality restaurants. The "Ticos" want what they always eat- fried chicken, and "gallo pinto". Sure there are a few places left, mostly in and around the wealthy barrios like Escazu, and Santana. If you come here thinking you'll be able to get even average Chinese, pizza, or Mexican food, for ex. -you'll be disappointed. If you like gallo pinto - greasy beans and rice-you'll love it here.

Mark.. just so you know There is a 100yr old debate about gallo pinto. It is the staple food for Nicaragua too and some folks claim it is a Nicaraguan dish.

To the production team., Awesome video but you missed so much more of costa rica, Cartago the first city in Central America is really what costa Rican food is about, some of the dishes you had were not authentic as you would find in costa rica, the whole fried fish and Carne and salsa is the best..would love to see you cover the Caribbean side where the rice and beans is made with coconut milk and a jerk style chicken probably the best thing besides chifrio..my wife wants to do the tour 😅 with you guys the next time you come..I have lived in costa rica for 20 years.
