Radiomaster TX16s Setup • Complete Start to Finish Tutorial • [Beginners]

@RCVideoReviews I am new to the hobby, and watch most of your setup videos while waiting for my radio to arrive. My first issue is when connecting to the radio top USB port, nothing pops up on the radio screen, and also nothing on the computer. Tried multiple cables and computers. Also connected other devices to those computer/cables and they work. I checked the radio mode is set to "ask". Could I gotten a bad radio? Anything else I could try/check?

Had little problem following thou there were a few screens slightly different maybe because I have no planes yet. Wonderful video

You have finally convinced me to switch to radio master. All my receivers are Spektrum (BNF Eflite planes) or Lemon with stab, or an Admiral or two with stab.

I assume that the link here to Amazon herein gets you the small commission. I am not sure which TX16S but I do want the better gimbals. Would the TX16S MKII V4 be a good choice? I see I also need a separate battery so my cost would be ~$255 less than my 3 yr old NX6.

Any thoughts?

What does the Max setting stand for?

Hay guys I'm a NOOB, i have my 16s connected to my pc for I can practice on the sims, but after powering it off every time I have to disocnnect, then I'm able to power it on, then reconnect again. Is this normal>???

Horrible experience with my TX16s, between flights I the transmitter seem a little different but just switched it off. Hour or so later I turned it on and it on and the screen flickered. It was not on the model i was flying and giving high throttle alarm! long story short. It had reset and SWITCHED FROM THROTTLE ON THE LEFT TO THROTTLE ON THE RIGHT! All Special functions are gone I had S1 for volume and S2 for screen brightness both deleted and when I try to reprogram them S1and S2 are not avaliable on the system! I been in the hobby since 1968 still have my first transmitter and everyone since,I sold my Kraft Signature Series a few years ago ! This is the only transmitter I like as much as the Kraft Signature! But I think Im going to throw it in the trash! I have never had a failure with any till now and cant tell you how bad I felt when it sunk in what had happen! I left a note to the support folks! but not much they can say to make me feel better about it! Just wondering if anyone heard of anything like this!

Hello, thanks the video i setup my radio as i watched the video. I am new to edgetx and just got a new RMTx16x Mkii with 2.7.1. I need to update the firmware so I will have options for R9M but i'm not sure where/how to do that. I opened Edgetx 2.7companion and setup my radio profiles and then in settings i 'checked' flexr9m and lua. then went to file>download but the download was greyed out (not active). Could you point me in the correct direction?

Hi John, just a quick question. Just recently updated to 2.8.1 and when turning the transmitter it went into "Storage Preparation". This seemed to go on forever, the SD Card was formatted to FAT32 and 4096 bytes. Am I missing something?

I have no heli loaded on my Radiomaster Tx16S with many working models. Now I want to ADD the heli options to the radio to set up a heli with a flybar. How can I configure my Radiomaster to give me the heli options without losing my existing models, sounds, scripts and calibration??

This is tooo confusing. I'm honestly surprised you don't just push a button on radio and drone and then select connection Bluetooth style.
Not using bluetooth; just with the same simplicity of connecting devices.

I really don't understand computers n shit well enough for drones. Just got a nazgul5 hd and dji goggles v2 with tx16. I can't figure out of to turn anything on o connect them lol hopefully I don't burn something up.
I find this really interesting that they put a woman's voice in the drone to tell me about connecting and stuff but didn't but a safety circuit in it to prevent me from frying antennas just for turning my drone on incorrectly lololol 🤦 Chinese shit

I am new to this radio. I bound my transmitter to a new Radiomaster R84 V2 receiver. However, if the transmitter gets closer than ~ 3 feet to the receiver, the connection is lost. I do not have this problem when using same transmitter bound to a HiTec Optima 6 channel receiver. Two weeks of emails with Radiomaster has not helped.
Have you seen or heard of this? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

ADC FILTER OFF...
For me.
Now I fly quads, so maybe this doesn't apply. But, betaflight, the flight controller software, does a FAR better job at filtering the sticks without removing slight thumb movements. If you don't use a flight controller and just go straight to servos, then use it, but otherwise I wouldn't.

I don't want to run my battery down to 3.2 volts per cell. It's stressful for the cells and there's no capacity worth anything below 3.5 volts ish. Plus you'll go from 3.5 to 3.0 super fast.

Edit : I also feel 3.4 per cell is too low to get an alarm. I'd feel pretty screwed if I was out in the field and that went off

Also I find that in the menu setting it, the screen doesn't dim all the way, but if you set it to, then leave the menu, or maybe restart the radio, it will go black if set all the way down.

I have watched a lot of your videos on the radio master tx16s. Have you ever done a video on setting up talerons? I am trying to set up a freewing 90mm f22 with tailerons. There is guy on you tube that has done this with a spectrum ix20 transmitter and I am trying to emulate his radio with my radio master tx16s.

I was considering buying this and after watching this video I'm definitely getting this I love how user friendly and awesome this radio is thank you sir

This old brain is trying to get my quad "Inductrux" into the 16s without any luck. I found a printout of the quad Horizon Hobby BLH8516 FPV pro manual. Every time a set it up something does not work. Each time is something else.... How do you see it being done? Thanks for any help. Continued success.I have it bound, armed, 1 flight mode. It still way far from where it should when properly setup in the radio. It flys, some control, no hover or change in flight modes. Looking forward to hearing from you and your instruction.

One thing I wonder about is: Why to people tear out their batteries from the plane and check the voltage from their smart planes when this info is already available in the telemetry?

I can't find an instruction in the manual as to how to charge the battery. I have the lead and can find the Radio's charging port. There are lots of instructions telling you what not to do but nothing telling you what to do. Can it plug into any USB power supply, like your mobile phone charger or any PC port? Should the radio be off or on? Pretty basic instruction that should be supplied with the radio methinks. I don't want to damage it. Thanks Kev.

I have followed you OK up until calibration, my left stick can only be centred when the sticks at its lowest point ie 6 o'clock when I push the stick to centre it shows 12 on the screen the only movement on the stick is from 9 to 3 & above. I have no lower movement below 9 to 3

What are the tools used for?

Its all about the firmware. If you can afford Spektrum , then you should buy Spektrum, if not buy the Radiomaster. If you want the multi - modulation thing then go for Radiomaster as well. If a single well executed RF modulation is what you want then Spektrum is hard to beat.

Great video thanks. I have a QQ 300 Extra plane. It has an Aura 8 receiver, that had Spectrum satellite receivers. To the point. When you bind the plane, it automatically sets up a three-position switch for flight modes, normal, advanced, and 3D. I know, get to the question already. I don't think the Radiomaster would have received that mode. Is there a way to do it on the RM?

Nice job! I'm a 107 certified Drone pilot and just received my new Eachine's version of the TX16S. Wow, it's very confusing to me coming from a Jumper T8SG. The problem I'm having is transferring the models from the old Jumper T8SG as it's not indicated on the open TX companion 2.3....

Hi i just got this radio, and when callibrating and sliding the right slider all the way to the top on screen i only see it going a bit above half of the center, the left slider reaches the top. Do u know a fix and if its software or hardware? When sliding it smoothly goes from the bottom till lets say 54% without a dead zone so i think its a bug or setting, anyone got a clue? Tnx

How about set up on a 3 channel fixed wing. To ensure we get rudder on right stick in mode 2 using wizard.
