Women are more likely to take up part-time work, therefore, earn less, stats do not take this into consideration. With most people not entering the workforce til 25 for a permanent job..and very little manufacturing in the EU, I would see a decline in the EU workforce and as work where there is high employment costs move to low-cost countries. Most employment within the EU is in Public Service, Medical Care, Education and Services areas such as Financial and Telecommunications...so can't see any growth in employment into the future...that would increase GDP....I see the quality of life for women deteriorate due to the pressure to go into the workforce due to high mortgage costs etc. Most women do value time with their children and apart from Scandinavian countries in the EU this choice is not respected.

“The emancipation of women, the achievement of full equality between the sexes, is one of the most important, though less acknowledged prerequisites of peace. The denial of such equality perpetrates an injustice against one half of the world’s population and promotes in men harmful attitudes..." ~ Baha'i Faith
