accidentally bought a UK keyboard🤦♂️
Ответитьi use a UK keyboard i didnt even notice the difference
ОтветитьIm an australian we bave same langaugs so i set out mine to the uk and was weird how my money was pounds i have one keyboard that is from uk very weird got an american one i changed back to us lmao
ОтветитьI messed up my ability to login since my password contains 5 special characters on my UK keyboard which are !"£$% Now since my keyboard was accidently then set to US, I don't know which keys I have to press to get those 5 characters in order to login. What a mess. If anybody knows ... Please tell me
ОтветитьANSI > ISO for Dutch, unfortunately. Logitech refuses to sell ANSI here, so I have to import it from the US. ISO is just annoying for me.
ОтветитьThanks, helpful..
ОтветитьI'm Polish living in the UK - I'm planning now to buy a new keyboard and I have a headache, cause I really hate UK layout but it's hard to get US layout keyboard here. For gaming and typing, short left shift is a f. nightmare. Also vertical 'enter' is so bad idea - I usually press 'enter' using my two fingers - it is not possible when you have such weird vertical 'enter'.
Ответитьthanks for the tips mate
ОтветитьGaming Chads pick American keyboards over Bri*t*ish keyboards any day over the larger shift key.
ОтветитьI like the US but it is bothering not to have accents, I accent like this "piu`"
ОтветитьNice little explanation, just what i wanted to know. Don't mind me saying, but you sound like another YT'er, Dragoon. :)
ОтветитьI think the reason why its different is because the uk layout is not just in the uk and a lot of europian languages have more letter in their alphabets.
For example here in finland we have the 26 letters found in the english alphabet as well as ä, ö and å. And thats why stuff like smaller shift, thinner enter and alt gr exists so that we can type all the special symbols while still having room for all the letters
I switched to ANSI qwerty because of two things:
1- the short shift of ISO
2- i was using azerty and each time i have to press shift for numbers
Gf
ОтветитьMe using Thai
ОтветитьBetter than the Dutch Layout i have on an old G15 I'm using the @ symbol is on the 0 key and a whole wack of keys just in horrible places, although it does have a UK style enter key and shift.
ОтветитьWell it would be better if you had taken your hands of for a moment to let us pause and see by our selves...
ОтветитьYou are a life saver
ОтветитьI love UK Layout.
It is much more intuitive :)
Greate video, thanks :)
The UK layout is weird. Why is @ prioritised over " ? Who is using ¬ regularly? Or at all? And that tiny shift key!
Ответитьvery useful even now. really appreciate the simple but direct explanation of it. Thanks!!
Ответитьsong name?
ОтветитьI had a US layout keyboard on my old 2008 MacBook (living in Ireland I was used to UK layout all my life). It took a few weeks for my brain to swap over to US. I actually preferred the US layout but it got really annoying then when I would type in work on UK keyboards and keep hitting the wrong keys, eventually I was pushed back to UK out of necessity to not type like an idiot on a UK keyboard at work. I really wish the UK would adopt the US layout 🫤. From a supply chain and manufacturing point it would be so much easier. Often the US gets the nicer versions, example a Cherry G80 3000n and 3000s. The 3000s is only available in the US model and it has boat loads of more design options than the 3000n.
Ответитьnice
ОтветитьHow do I switch keyboards in Linux?
ОтветитьMy control panel doesn't look like yours !
I typed into the search bar change input methods and it found nothing
Simple and easy ...thank you
ОтветитьBrilliant - saved me time and a headache thank you!
ОтветитьAlso you can type alternative symbols with the US right alt key and a numpad, but not a lot of people know about it, and I have never seen it marked on a US keyboard either. So maybe you're just mentioning that it is labeled by standard on the UK keyboard?
Ответитьi found out the turkish keyboard is literally a mix of two
ОтветитьWhat is a zed key and where is it on a American keyboard
Ответить☭︎
ОтветитьIt would be nice when you compare it would be good to highlight or circle the keys? Special Shift key function different between USA & UK
Ответитьmine must be a different kinda keyboard my hashtag button is none existent
ОтветитьTrying to find keycaps for UK boards is such a pain 🥺
ОтветитьI uhhh
dont have either?!?
I got the UK enter US shift and all those other keys left of the enter are different from both.
I was struggling with this, thank you for simple illustration!
ОтветитьVery helpful, thank you!
I hate the US enter key, I always hit the back-slash key above it.
Be careful when buying guys - a lot of listings show the UK layout on several photos in the product page and then on the last photo you see the box of the keyboard and on it the US layout. This happened to me recently, take care!
I prefer US keyboard because it's more universal and more countries (Poland for example) are using this layout. UK keyboard just feels very odd to me and I can't get used to it. The video is great - Short, briefly and straight to the point.
ОтветитьFor some reason, in russia we use the US variation.
And I can't like the UK one at all. Never use it.
Useful
ОтветитьHey this video was very helpful, I also couldn't help but notice your wallpaper and how it seemed to be moving, do you have a link for it to download please?
Thanks
I got qwertz
Ответитьwhy isnt there a keyboard with the ansi layout but the " and @ are in the uk layout, or there could just be more keycap sets for uk layout
ОтветитьHonestly, the difference is so small you can get used to in a day or two, no need for any stickers you would use on more exotic layouts such as french, just set it to whichever your physical keyboard is xD
ОтветитьAs someone from the USA I only use US layouts (either full sized or 80% layouts typically), but never any other layout. Is that true from people elsewhere for their home layouts or do they US or other language layouts too?
ОтветитьHello can we put uk keycaps to us keyboard?
ОтветитьIn other words: ANSI vs ISO.
I made my keyboard with thin enter and tiny extra bottom left. Because I can. Fite me.
Yeah they look pretty much the same, I wouldn't mind either. I just can not imagine gaming with that small shift key
