This film was good overall despite some inaccuracies in the historical event depicted. The actors did an excellent job in their roles and the script was well written. The cinematography was just outstanding as it was mostly filmed in the area where the events depicted took place.

Never saw a really bad movie like this....wasting time watching it

So far this movie sucks. The acting is bad and they look too clean.

I always liked this movie. It did try to capture the distress and bleak situation they were in but I felt more of its story was missing.

The acting was superb but it should've been a 2 and a half hour movie.

Why don't they hunt for animals instead of doing nothing and trying to kill one another for food... Its disgusting... Killing another human being so that they can survive... I haven't finished watching the movie but I hope and pray that all those who ate and Take part in cannibalism won't make out alive.

As disturbing as cannibalism is in a survival situation, it has happened countless times throughout history because at the end of the day when it comes to survival, humans are animals.

Here in Vietnam American sanctions 1975-94 caused widespread starvation. To this very day you'll never see a seagull in Vietnam. We ate them all and they are a bit reluctant to come back. Nothing but nothing has such a profond effect on the human spirit like starvation. Please give me a small piece of bread before you shoot me so i can die happy

Very good. I went over "Donners pass" a few times as a Brit driving a semi, I had no idea of the history surrounding the name of the pass. but now i do. Those people had it rough, It was bad enough going up and over in a semi during the summer let alone walking over it in winter. R.I.P to all those that didnt make it

Good movie & I appreciate the tough historical content etc. sadly at 17.30 I declined to watch anymore,whilst the homemade cabin/tents & food plus good acting were commendable I couldn’t help but notice the perfect hair & teeth,even most of the costumes were still “straight of the rack” perfectly clean. Why oh why do people making these things not “dirty up” the main characters in a timely fashion with accordance to chapter/period/ dates & time served etc,the lead guys hair was nicer than my own (which was washed with head & shoulders last night)!

Yeah! The Indians were fat. They had no food shortages. They had skills to hunt, trap, produce leather for clothing and stockpile without guns. I'd reckon such skills are more important than writing, math, wasting time speaking to mental spooks or anything else in life.
