So I have not finished shining pearl BUT I have finished scarlet. My team is skeledirge, baxcalibur, kilowattrel, garganacl, kingambit and great tusk. But I shall mention my tinkaton (which I used a bit) plus my clodsire and lokix (which were my second and third Pokémon respectively and were on the team until I caught great tusk and kingambit).

Poison types were actually pretty good for setting up. You can poison them or better your own stats and then U-turn or Batton-Pass it out of there.

Coming from the future, I can confirm fairy types were very buffed, sadly I couldn't use togekiss cause the one togepi I found had a special attack lowering nature, so I ended up with a gardevoir, which, goodness If gardevoir is this good, togekiss must be Hella OP

Coming here late, but I wanted to talk about anything that doesn’t happen that was predicted
Fairy types do exist, but they’re two of them are hard to obtain which are debatably the best especially Togekiss as they can only be found in the grand underground with rare spawn chances.
Rotom cannot be obtained in the post game, so you can’t use it on your team on a regular play through.
There is no way to gain a hidden ability until post game with an ability patch.
Also these buffs might not necessarily save the player when they go toe to toe with the E4 and Cynthia as they have competitive EVs, IVs, and move pools... WHY IS THIS IN THE MAIN GAME?!?!

Let's be real, Togekiss may be an outlier, but EVERYONE who got type-changed w/ the introduction of Fairy was buffed by a crazy amount.

Gyrados with Intimidate is what helped me Destroy Cynthia’s Garchomp. Her Garchomp killed most of my team with her Swords Dance + attack combo but when I brought out Gyrados, her Garchomp attack was lowered and none of its moves could KO my Gyrados but Avalanche took her Garchomp out . Highly Recommend

I think grass should be buffed either against flying or bug or poison and resist fairy

I finally figured out my team: Cesar the Empoleon, Fiare (a combination of Fire and Mare) the Rapidash, Plandit (a combination of Plant and Bandit) the Roserade, Börd the Murkrow, Zat (a combination of Zap and Cat) the Luxray, and Psyal (a combination of Psychic and Royal) the Gardevoir.

Didnt bidoof get baned in dpp ubers because of a hidden ability?
