Never Eat The ‘Clean’ Part Of Moldy Bread

This video had been on my watchlist for years, but I didn’t get around to finally viewing it until today. Thankfully, I’ve been following food safety fairly well according to this guy.

I thought eating mold was fun, everybody I know is eating mold... You're not cool unless you eat the mold.

Cut the bad and eat the rest never killed me , did it my whole life , my parents did the same with bread and cheese and saved by not throwing it out, however it didn't happen often because we didn't have excess food nothing got wasted.

How about fruit? Let’s say it’s mold/broken small part of the fruit. Can I just cut that part out and eat the rest?

Lets this video be a lesson to you people, any foods that become mouldy, IT STAYS MOULDY AS IT IS!, even clean bits count as all the roots are conjoined in together, even away from the mouldy area.

Just dont eat food that is already moulded, THATS IT!

Is this the same for noodle that some part of it molded?

Something to also note that wasn't clearly mentioned here: mycotoxins are often produced from the hyphae i.e. the part that isn't visible to the naked eye. They accumulate in the body and can cause several health issues down the road.

I've consumed a lot of moldy bread in my life time. We always just ate the other side that wasn't moldy.i turned out fine ......ish

I've eaten moldy bread and moldy cheese my whole life and my stomach is still great and I never got sick from it so I don't know maybe I'm just different

I can't imagine imagine going to the hospital or even dying because you don't want to waste a $2 loaf of bread

Some people are sad some species went extinct yet the species is some useless crappy mold

It might be disgusting. But mother would remove the green and feed us the rest of the bread. There were 7 of us.

can you explain frozen bread, though? i had a case where we took fresh frozen bread out of the freezer, defrosted it and it smelt moldy. but it had no visible mold on it.

This is one of the reasons I do not miss my parents now that they are dead. Growing up I was forced to eat all this because they claimed that it was money they could not afford to waste. Yet, despite being an adult for over 15 years now I have never once went broke living by the saying, "If in doubt throw it out." Also, my health as an adult is significantly better than it was as a child. I am so glad to be living in a time where our collective knowledge about harmful practices is continuing to grow.
