Hello! I am a complete novice in dog showing! Does this work the same way on giant breed dogs? I have St Bernards! Thank you!
ОтветитьEric Salas, thank you so much for sharing this with us. My BRT was backing off the judges and now he is comfortable and relaxed when being examined.
ОтветитьI'm not sure I'm correctly understanding what to do with the hand. These are both tiny dogs in the video but I tried it with my deerhound puppy and he still is flinging his head about. Does this work on a larger dog, and if so, what adjustments would I need to make please?
ОтветитьHow many times a day or week should we practice head straight ?
ОтветитьI’ve been looking for a video like this for a while. As I’ve recently been stating to show my puppy.
ОтветитьDog show people - wierd
ОтветитьJust what I needed. I’m a complete novice when it comes to showing. In 2 months I want to show my dog for the first time. I also noticed that if I keep my dogs head straight, his legs don’t move anymore, and he doesn’t try to sit when checking if he is intact.
ОтветитьMy puppy always sits when I try to do that! I dont know what to do and make him not to sit.
ОтветитьSir if u have Saint training videos please send once
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьI cannot see your hand so I cannot try it with my EBT girl. Please put better vid on
ОтветитьAny close up view on how he hold the dog in the neck?
ОтветитьGreat video and site. I just got a pup that I plan to show and will start working with her. I have shown dogs before but you do pretty good things with them and give great tips.
ОтветитьI am so glad I found this video. As a new owner/handler I have had so many other people try to help me understand how to stack for conformation. This is Step One and looking forward to the next.

Love this❤❤needed this
ОтветитьNo one is teaching this way. It's fantastic! My rambunctious dachshund "got it" right away. He loves it and barks at me to get me to work with him on the table.
ОтветитьCool one
Ответитьthat's RIGHT
ОтветитьI’m going to a dog show too
ОтветитьThanks so much for your wonderful demonstration. I was in tears today because I have a dog that freezes constantly in the ring. He is a real nice boy, but he absolutely refuses to walk in the ring. He walks everywhere else in the world, but the show ring seems to scare him to death. How can I help him?
ОтветитьCavaliers...the bane of my existence with their 2 ton butts
ОтветитьSir Eric Salas, can you make a video doing this on a Rottweiler, also make him not to look around if the Judges will inspect him or touch him, opening his mouth, thanks in advance..... God bless
Ответитьyou should see the How to teach a dog to sit and stand
Ответитьi loved you video.
ОтветитьThis video was my introduction to Eric Salas and from then on, I was desperate to attend one of his workshops. I managed this toward the end of last year (I think!) and it was one of the best things I did. I am now going to try for a follow up session at some point when he's back in the UK. If you're wondering how worthwhile his workshops are, then I assure you, they are.
ОтветитьI am just about to get started on training in just over a week but I want to make sure I get the correct lead-where can I buy the one used on the CKCS here? My boy is also a CKCS and highly spirited... to say the least LOL 😂 Also is there a video that shows how to use the lead correctly up close? Eric Salas your videos just may save me so I can correctly train my dog!!!
ОтветитьI love all your videos! I wish you lived in Canada closer to me. I am looking for some conformation handling classes but it hasn't been easy to find any in y town.
ОтветитьIs this a king spaniel or American cocker spanile?
ОтветитьPeople should remember that your dog did not choose you. You chose to make it a part of your family and life. Your dog doesn't have much choice in anything. You make the decisions for it. You owe it to treat it well for being a part of your wish. Dogs will show you respect if you respect the dog. In all honesty I am sad to see this video and some of the handling here. Some dogs love shows and some dogs don't like it and would much rather be outside running in a field. Still some owners only care about what they got the dog for. Did you know that animals carry our burdens? Thoughts, aches and pain. They are willing to do anything for you, and this is how we treat them. I am sure the lady on the video loves her dog. She seams like a warm hearted person. Usually people don't think about these things and that's where we go wrong. Please, just because it's a small dog, you shouldn't handle it like you do. Lifting it around and placing it in unatural positions. Would you do the same with a rotweiler? The dog is using it's paw not because it doens't have any respect, but to signalise to you that "I don't like this mom, can you please stop". (btw I say it cause I don't rememeber if they said he or she in th video) I've trained my dog to do alot of things but NEVER with force, only with treats and love. It's never fun to practise something if all you get is negative feedback.Even when this dog stood still it at first, it didn't get anything in return. Would you work on things you hated for someone who did not consider how you feel to get nothing in return? Just think about it please. Animals are not our toys! They are living creatures with their own personalities and they need to be respected and loved for who they are, just like we do. I'm sorry this is long. It's not only about this video. I've seen too many now. Be good to your beloved little friends!
Ответитьhi ur videos are very usefull but can u post a close up video for how to lock pinky in and creation of saddle for bigger dogs.we haven't got it perfectly from long shot
ОтветитьI really need help with my yorkie pup to show
ОтветитьEric is amazing! Just saying, working on getting him to North Florida for 2016!
ОтветитьIt is amazing how using pain can be so quick and effective. Pressure on the nerves in the neck gets results so much faster that taking time to teach the dog. It's not really cruel as these dogs are not pets they are here to win prizes. Awesome.
ОтветитьCan you show a close up of the hand placement on the collar. I heard mr salas mention something about placing his fingers a certain way on the chain.
ОтветитьI can't see properly how you put this collar on the dog Eric, could you possibly show a close up shot please...the part where you hold the head straight?
Many thanks
Brilliant. Wondering if you have a Video on getting a dog to move up and down in front of the judge without stopping halfway?
ОтветитьDo you have a video on free stacking large dogs?
ОтветитьCould you repeat the chain step on close-up pls and thxs !!!!
