Rykard is an awful fight. S tier is insane

I’m stuck on red dog😡😡😡😡

Gideon was so mid cuz he’s basically just a red phantom, but it will always be one of the coolest moments in my first run when he jumps in the damn air and drops Scarlot Aonia on me.

I feel like making morgot the first story boss so hars is an incentive to make the average player go out in limegrave and explore to get stronger. I also like that as a seasoned souls player it gave a good challenge to do underleveled and having that option i think just elevates the boss more

I didn't even know this was related to OP at all when I saw it in Discord, haha. So weird, since I heard Zoro's VA at the beginning. I was like "Oh, cool. Zoro's VA is in this anime," LMAO.

Radagon A+ Imo but Elden beast is C at best, just chasing it non stop to get like one hit in before it runs away is so annoying

That's a great tier list. Some of those bosses I agree with. But one I have to disagree with is Maliketh the black blade. For me he's a C tier and I can explain why. Read the rest below to find out.




Most Soulsborne bosses are supposed to be hard but fair. Maliketh is hard. But not for the right reasons. For one when you try to parry his attack, you can't stagger him like you can the other bosses because while you're in the middle of the parring attack animation, he will interrupt it with his attacks and do massive AOE damage, making you go through all your estas Flasks. I am aware that you can use a Spirit buddy and a few of your animal companions to split his focus. But in the time it takes you to do that, they're already dead and now you're by yourself with no buddies at your disposal. That's artificial BS difficulty at it's finest. But it doesn't just stop there. There's one more thing that makes him so BS, I almost actually quit playing Soulslike games entirely.


He has limitless stamina meaning he can combo you indefinitely. Just when you're waiting on an opening to attack or kill him, he again interrupts your attack animation and I swear to you, you'd be like Chill the F**k out Maliketh. You got to have an opening and let me well on you. He's just that cheap. So difficulty wise, I think they went a little overboard with Maliketh's design and over complicated attack patterns.


So there you go. Hopefully that answers why I just don't like the fight with him.

There is two Margot’s because the first time you see him and the second time in the Altus plateau in the open world encounter he was just a spirit summon of him essentially trying to stop you

Almost all of these rating are very good with thought out reasoning but all I could think when he said roll through the godskin Nobels Rolls was, just roll through waterfowl! Love the godskin any themselves but apostle movement is more fun to look at and doesn’t feel as unfair as the rollout can be

The satisfaction after beating malenia is just😁🥰 unmatched compared to any other boss

Malenia is s tier, you're just butthurt she gave you that much trouble. The "remove that attack from her and she aint sh*t" logic is a silly one, same can be said about any hard boss in any game. You just have to roll towards her when she does it, and time it right. Not saying it's easy, but that you need to, you know, GIT GUD!

My favorite boss was malenia ,
It felt like swordman vs swordman fight and I love that kind of fight.
For me me trying to bait out her waterfowl dance and try to predict what she's gonna do felt like brain game and I really loved it.

I took damage 1x against rodahn, he hit me with his first arrow barrage besides that i raped him and took no damage. I also beat melania naked, with a wolf mask and a sword

Rennala is not a b tier. She is C tier at best. The fight is annoying and easy at the same time. Red wolf is the same. The godskin noble can also stab you through walls.

I always laugh at people being mad they can't dodge malenia's waterfowl. People spend so much time worrying about how to do the most amount of damage in the shortest portion of time but completely disregard all of the shields available in the game for melee and even casters. If you go into the malenia fight trying to out DPS her then you're going to have a bad time. I like that they added a late game boss that forces players to deviate or hard reconsider the approach they had to previous bosses.

I would love to see more ppl actually reviewing the bosses with a more critical point of view bc then bosses like Mohg and Fortissax would have got a way worse spot then the ones they have on personal lists and bosses like Margit and Morgott would have got a higher place

Renalla has to be difficult for mages since magic is supposedly easy mode. I don't know if that's true but that's the word around town.

Crucible Chads should've been added & put in S tier

Malenia for me is a mixed case. On one hand I enjoy the overall difficulty of the fight, and I find dodging and manipulating her attacks for the most part enjoyable. However on the other hand I agree with Asmon about Waterfowl dance. I do not think centering a good 50% of the fight's difficulty around one move is enjoyable. Until you learn how to dodge the move, it just feels like she activates an i-win button against you, which feels cheap and unfun.

and the thing is Waterfowl dance is imo not even her worst offender. lol. Asmon did not mention the rot clone attack which i actually find worse than waterfowl. The way she positons herself makes it hard to see the clones coming, and if even one lands a hit you will likely be stunlocked by the rest and killed as the clones plus Malenia's ending thrust attack do a fuck ton of damage. On top of all that she can transition into whatever move or combo she wants any time, even after letting off a long string of moves, which makes an already fast and difficult boss very difficult to punish. All of that makes Malenia a fun BUT mentally fatiguing experience for me, one that borders on a very thin line between "hard and fun" and "hard and annoying".

I overall enjoy malenia, but its not the kind of fight I ever want to see again in a game like this unless its in a game like Sekiro, where your character is actually fast enough to equally contend with someone like her. As of now you fight her with the speed of the DS3 character, and she outpaces you so much that even a fragment of a second too late results in a failed dodge. It just becomes frustrating after enough time has passed.

I fought godskin apostle way too early in caelid and spent a couple hours on him getting 1 shotted over and over. Him calling apostle a joke hurt my pride

I have my disagreements with this list, especially his placement of Rykard and Melania. But a large amount of these are on point.

Hard hard HARD disagree on Radhan, that fight is D tier for me. Hated it.

I will defend Malenia as an S tier, just below Godfrey. Everything about that fight is perfect. It's like a deadly dance between you and her.

Yes, the waterfowl is cheesy, but there are ways around it and you can nullify the move with freeze pots.

Godfrey was the toughest fight for me, and the frustrating thing was that if before I find a tough guy, I would continue to explore the world and then go back to the fight, but with Godfrey being at the end of the game...there was not much for me to explore (I mean there's always tons of things to explore, but at the end of the game I was a little less motivated to do it)

Rykard in s is wild ngl,his fight is okay with the serpent hunter. Elden beast sucks but I like radagon

why does everyone dislike commander niall so much. I think the fight is great and of course you will fight more than one enemy at once, after all hes a commander who commands his troops. I loved the fight actually

Still find Margit ridiculously hard to this day... can never get the right timing on his super slow to super fast swings. Bit of a shit boss imo

The only reason I dislike Elden Beast is because you spend half the fight chasing the motherfucker around the arena instead of fighting it.

I did malenia within 5 attempts, but i was heavily over-levelled by that time. i had spent several days on radagon/beast before that. radhan is great fight cinematically and thematically, but it's not really a boss fight at all, as i just summoned the assists and watched them do all the work, i barely touched him myself. also i still can't decide if he was sitting on his tiny horse or it was his dick&balls.

Malenia and morgott are s Plus Bro 💀

I feel you on Rennala, as a fellow sorcerer. I don't respec and use cheese tactics, so I had to over-level and to upgrade my spirit summon to beat her.

Your experience almost always depends on what level you meet some of these bosses. I met Mogh way overleveled as a samaraui and i deleted the hell out of him w/ a kitana. I watched a lot of videos of people struggling
