Yeah I know a boy who has had a crush on me for the past 5 years and originally I was interested in him but the way he just gave me advice to get other guys and never has the courage to tell me how he feels made me stop liking him. Sometimes when he talks to me I can tell he is trying to compliment me but it’s always really awkward and quiet and he will take about 10 seconds to get the words out. We have been friends for 5 years, I understand that he is nervous, but personally, when I have been in situations where I like my guy friends, I just tell them, get rejected and move on or start dating them. He has been holding his feelings in for so long it is clear that he is frustrated and it only does more harm than good and creates distance in our ‘friendship,’ to the point where I’ve pretty much stopped talking to him because he is attached to me and expects me to feel the same.
