Pimax 8k now or Pimax Crystal? Will there be smaller FOV on Crystal?

Pimax just announced that the Crystal will launch "soon"ish.

so i got a noob question, and you seem like a good candidate, if you wear glasses can you adjust the image to where you don't need glasses or do they fit in the goggles? what about these newer models? i knew better than to jump on 1st gen stuff but now it's starting to look pretty interesting.

With 4090 you could actually run that 12k at full res... that could be something. And that kind of panels, really make it future proof. Well, until they get 8k panels... but that would need twice the power of 4090.

PIMAX Crystal is my dream headset but PIMAX being so quiet

I'm a DCS and IL-2 fan. The lack of comparative info between the Crystal and the 12K makes it really hard to figure out what would be best for flight sims where your opponents are mere specs that usually get washed out on lower resolution devices.

I'm using 5k now. I want a little more vertical field of view, and QLED is long-awaited.
The problem is weight and cables.
especially weight (and price)
Therefore, I don't think Pimax needs a standalone feature.
How could anyone buying a headset like this not have an adequate PC on hand, and what to expect from a meager built-in GPU?

Crystal is supposed to be released in the third quarter. Two weeks left. Good luck with that.

The trade-in program doesn't apply to the Crystal, so that should make your decision easy. =D

Thanks for the Vid on the new 12K coming out, I’m hoping they support AMD GPUs. Also, did you try the new 120hz firmware for the 8KX?

No more Pimax headset. They need more 3-4 years to build a acceptable quality hardware and software. Mostly software.

WOW that was in standalone mode as well according to there description when they filmed those Pimax Crystal through the lenses.

the hardware keeps making leaps, as an old fart i never thot id see this day to be honest .. wonder how long till we get to full vr dive , good stuff sir :)
