I'm Tired of Seeing This Motorcycle Trend...

I can’t imagine how miserable your life must be if it bothers you to see someone riding without gloves. We’ve slowly become a nanny state that feels the need to not only “follow” best practices/expert opinions/scientific studies but also lecture everyone that doesn’t. Maybe you should get a whistle and a yellow flag so you can point out infractions while you’re out for a drive? Better yet, you probably shouldn’t be riding a motorcycle because studies show you’re eight times more likely to suffer catastrophic bodily injuries if you’re in an accident.

People are riding with sneakers, shorts and going shirtless and no helmet. The dum-dums might as well leave the gloves at home too.

Got some cheap skeleton themed gloves that aren't exactly the most well protected, but they allow for plenty of feel. Make sure you don't have too thick gloves where the fingers are touching the handlebar for maximum feedback.

I learned the weather thing the other day. I was all bundled up but the bike was only a 15 minute drive home, just bought a 2004 CBR600rr and rode it home in like 30 degree weather, my body was warm but my fingertips felt like they were about to fall off

Most of my family are/were in an MC so i grew up in that way of life.. I don't remember any of them wearing gloves... we also have no helmet laws..

I literally cant ride without gloves, it feels too odd. I primarily wear them for protection, but i just cant ride without them.

I’ve rode without a glove 1 time. I was on a group ride and we ended about an hour out of town and my phone died so I didn’t have gps. A group of us were heading a similar way back enough that I could follow most of the way until I was familiar. About 5 minutes into the ride I remembered I had a vape in my pocket that I forgot to put into a bag to keep it from burning up so I took my gloves off while moving because I didnt want to ask someone to pull over with me (it was some friends I’ve ridden with for a while so I’m sure they would have) or get left behind and get lost because I pulled off by myself. Well wouldn’t you know, one of them flew away at some point between taking them off and going to grab them to put back on. In that hour ride, It was a huge difference between the hand with the glove and the hand without the glove.

Really all ways of defending your self against the unexpected is to wear leather motorcyle gloves, Jacket,trousers,and boots

In the warmer months I wear ex police gloves; ex East German police officers gloves

Without a doubt. Just try to use only your non-dominant hand to unbuckle and whizz. Helmet (of course), Gloves, long pants, and appropriate boots or no riding.

I was glad I was wearing gloves when riding my mountain bike when I hit some damp metal and went down on a paver surface. Broke two fingers (they weren't armored like motorcycle gloves) but I would have probably had some major road rash and that was just on a bicycle, I definitely wear proper gloves on my motorcycle.

A few years ago i hitted a big butterfly, right between my visor and helmet, doing 60 in the highway and my head tilted back like someone threw a stone at me, since that day i wear full gear even if im going out in my 125cc Suzuki.

Trying to ride in waterproof gloves OMG! Is there Nothing on the market that is waterproof, and bulk free enough to use the turn signals or horn????????:?

As someone who has first hand experience being dumb enough to not wear gloves, it's the one item of gear I never ride without now. I had a lowside accident when I was a noob. Turned my palms into what looked like, bloody steaks. Have fun wiping your butt or brushing your teeth while that's heeling up.

Nearly 40 years and never had motorcycle gloves. Had gloves but nothing fancy, just something to keep the cold and wet out.

I've always said that aside from a helmet gloves are the most important equipment you can get and should spend whatever you can afford to get the absolute best you can afford ( not to be confused with simply the most expensive ). As said in the video the first instinctive thing people do is put their hands down.

I don't think I have ever not worn gloves in 30+ years with my license ,sadly I see more and more riders sleeveless in summer ,no gloves , sneakers just the cheapest Helmet from Ebay/Amazon .

I often wonder how many will make it to my age as those I knew who acted like that were often the ones who ended up down the road in a mess.

In my race club, one of our members was hitting 150 on the straight. His chain broke and locked the rear wheel, he could not control the skid. He lept off and slide on his ass and hands. No scrapes or bruises, he did have 1st degree burns on his ass.

Yeah, 35 years riding experience. I do not feel comfortable without my gloves on for all the reasons you have mentioned. I know it looks a little like a commercial but really this needed to be said. Great glove info also. Thanks Yammie.

A bumble bee hit me in the neck at around 80mph and it nearly knocked my head off lol. My neck was sore for ages. I often think about that little fella. Hope he was ok. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Get your gloves elsewhere. I bought the Rev'It Sand 4s. They were ill-fitting, cheap feeling, and $30 out of pocket to return.

When I crashed, I only smashed my helmet into the ground. 😅 I was wearing gloves though.

Totally agree, I have seen so many bad hand injuries here in Thailand and cannot understand why people do not wear them. Do not even get me started on shorts flip-flops and t-shirts!
