My mother owned a shop. For 35 years, she heard all about how women wanted their hair done. I remember back about 35-40 years ago, this college age girl, asked her to “lengthen” her hair😳....HUH?
Mom told her to go home....and wait! 🤣🤣🤣
The whole shop busted out loud in laughter.

My mum usually likes to come to my hair appointments and she always likes to make the decision with my hair, which is frustrating because she won’t let me talk. I decided to go without telling her this year, I went an hour early and it wasn’t busy at all, I was hoping they would just start my hair appointment cos there was only one client and I, the rest was gossiping behind the desk and I sat there looking around cos my phone had no battery. I felt awkward, this time round. The person who was in charge told me I had a lady, I already told him I wanted colour and the lady thought I was getting a cut, I told her It was my first time dying it and I showed her a picture of Champaign hair. The guy in charge came over and he had a weird vibe and I could tell he looked annoyed because I wanted to go light and he kept assuming I box dyed my hair and that I couldn’t go light, at the most a level 6 but I didn’t care how as long It could go light. He didn’t seem to believe my hair was a virgin, when he was applying it he just slapped the bleach without gloves and kept moaning over the chemicals reacting on his hands. First, why wouldn’t you wear gloves? He looked so done. The lady was suppose to do it left in the middle of dying my hair in the sink and my neck was cramping up, I was so uncomfortable, she was on the phone crying, I was there on the sink for 30 minutes and then the assistant took over, and told me she had to leave early because of personal problems. They made the choice to blow dry my hair I obviously didn’t want to leave with my hair wet so I let her, the assistant took ages blow drying my hair and didn’t look like she knew how to do it but I was patient, they charged me another £30 for blow dry, when the bleach and dye process was already expensive. I regretted after cos I didn’t know any place that would charge that much and I’ve gotten blow outs for £10 from better service. The hair colour they chose was a warm copper, I hated it after and decided to tone it and it went lighter but it was 10x better than it was plus, the toner was only £6. I feel like I waisted money for just bleach and a shitty hair blower service.

I’m one of those clients who tells her whole life story in the damn chair. I’m so sorry for being annoying but I feel awkward if it’s total silence so I try to fill it in with conversation and if the stylist is friendly I just blab. This is why fanning magazines in front of me as I sit down is a wise move coz I might shut up in order to read one lol.

As a stylist I love my quiet people! I can always tell when they have a comfortable look or they close there eyes. I love that trust. Quiet people dont feel bad!
