why do they make it labor intensive to book things? i am 69 & have bad legs, i do not want to spend my first hours on board standing in lines &/or standing to book my events. why do they set things back everywhere? i'm looking to relax, not work. they have technology to make things easy & smooth. so i have 2 more cruises booked & they are expensive, & to be forced to physically take care of my trip is just obnoxious of these corporations to put on an aging customer base. we are making them billions of dollars, they need to stop going out of their way to make things harder for us, & parents of young kids, especially single parents. i write this to them, for them to see. the ceo's & owners. i want to do that canada trip next fall, but i will have to research & find the most accommodating cruise line. i am watching this video because i am booked on norwegians escape 22oct23 to bermuda launching at manhattan terminal. i am cranking today, but i this is unreasonable of norwegian. i went on a 2nd cruise in 30 years from ft lauderdale, fl. flying down from alb ny on s western with a stop over in maryland i think & i was exhausted all that day & the next. i missed a lagoon kayak trip i had been looking forward to. i will never fly with them again, the trip back was the same physical beating ending in exhaustion. i feel like we are being punished for the pandemic. i have trouble looking at the bright side, i resent having to work so hard at it when i am spending so much money to relax & have fun.

Having cruised on Norwegian, over a dozen times, my embarcation day tradition used to be going directly to O’Sheehan’s. Back in 2016-18 it was easy nobody was there. But after the pandemic it has been incredibly crowded on embarcation day (people have caught on). So now, it’s better to go to one of the main dining rooms.(as you have suggested)

We did a Canada New England cruise in September 2022 which was about the same time as you. We were on the Breakaway, which is slightly smaller than the ship you were on. Your tips for cruising on Norwegian were spot on. Because the Breakaway class is pretty big you do have to be pretty patient on embarcation day.

Can I bring a beach chair on board to bring to beaches?

We've only sailed from Boston, and the choices are limited there. I would love some information on how to get transportation from Providence, Rhode Island to the New Jersey or New York ports. Is it possible to do that early in the morning, to avoid the hassle of reserving a pre-cruise hotel for one night, then taking public transportation to the port?

You can book your restaurant reservations 120 days out. Same for the shows. I did my pre-boarding 21 days out. It's easy and boarding is easy. 9 NCL cruises so far.

We sail on Joy out of NYC in 3 days. Do you pass the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island? Our 9 yr old wants to see them. If so, which side of ship?

I sailed to Bermuda on Norwegian a couple weeks ago. Embarkation and debarkation in Boston was barely organized chaos. Even though you're given a boarding time, you spend a lot of time in a seemingly endless line like cattle heading for the stockyard. The terminal is obviously a very old warehouse or something that was repurposed for the least amount of money they could spend. It was thoroughly exhausting both ways.

I am heading on Norweigan Jewel in 3 days to Alaska!! 🥰. It will be the first time sailing with NCL. So looking fwd to it. Thanks for this great info!

Hi Thanks for the video, I'm leaving tomorrow on Joy too for a five day cruise. I have a few questions:
Since I'm going solo, will there be any events geared to getting singles together? Im a bit worried that I will feel lonely as everyone will be with children/spouses. Second question: I thought the internet was free as that was in all their ads, but tonite talking to an agent she said the "all free" is only for 75 minutes during my time onboard and if I wanted more it would cost more money. Did u buy the wifi package? I might not even get the 75 minutes as it belongs to the "5 freebies". More about that in my next question. Third question: Apparently NCL has 5 freebies which you must sign up for when booking or up to 24 hrs before cruise. I learned about this like one hr ago from an NCL agent. My travel agent did not sign me up for this when he booked me. I was really upset to learn this. How has ur experience with customer relations onboard the ship been? If I ask them to allow me the five freebies do u think they will "relent" and allow them to me or am I just dreaming?

Going on a solo cruise in June! So excited 7 day on NCL escape.

We made the mistake of watching many of your videos and listening to your advice. Man were we wrong to listen to them. Your giving bad info and advise.

We just booked an Alaskan cruise on Encore for September leaving out of Seattle. We are really looking forward to it. This will be our first Norwegian cruise. Thanks for the tips!
