What is Virginia VOAD? National Volunteer Week

Happy National Volunteer Week! VDEM is recognizing members of the Virginia VOAD this week to highlight our critical partners when disaster strikes.

VA VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) is the state association of voluntary organizations that mitigate and alleviate the impact of disasters throughout the Commonwealth while promoting the 4 C’s of cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration.

Over 40 different organizations provide disaster services including Sheltering, Feeding, Home repair & Rebuild, Debris Cleanup, Spiritual & Emotional Care, and so much more! VDEM is beyond thankful for our partnership with VA VOAD and their work in communities across the Commonwealth.
