2021 Mercedes GLE Review: The Best Posh SUV? 4K

Hello,please help,I don't know what to choose between GLE 400d and GLS 400d.I prefer a sportier one in terms of looks but I don't know which to buy.

Struggling to choose between this or the volvo xc90 t8

GLE450 2020 year owner here, 3 years later 75 k miles. Perfect in all respect. I have AMG package and it looks business. No issues with this car. Keeper for next 2 years.

Definitely that's the best Suv 🔝🔝

Great review! I like the shape of this version of the GLE than the last one. More aerodynamic with simple, elegant lines, which spells understated luxury.

My God, in the beginning there I thought it's going to be a German-bashing fest again. What do you mean a "miserable looking car"? "Not happy to see you"? It's not a fairy tale, you know. It's just a car! A magnificent piece of German engineering, build in the USA. It doesn't judge you, it doesn't discriminate, it's NOT skin colour sensitive! It's just one block of pure masculinity ready to rock! Don't be a fairy, please!!!

It baffles me that Mercedes pushed a half baked CarPlay which requires wires on a car this expensive.

I am curious to know what metrics you use in evaluating and scoring SUVs. I went to buy a Mercedes GLE and discovered I could not even into into the driver's seat. It's very small and cramped. I even tried the larger GLS and could not fit in either. The legroom for their SUVs is 40 inches, some even 39 inches.



This is ridiculous for an SUV and cannot understand why they are ranked #1 in almost all categories.. They might be built for Europeans but the average American will fit fit in the driver seat.

American SUVs on the other hand have legroom starting at 43.5 all the way to 46. It might not seem like much difference but when you are above 6'3, as most Americans are, it does.

Rory you're 💯 on the GLE, the front is so ugly even with the AMG package. The good looking GLEs are the AMG 53 and 63 that have the actual AMG grill. Check those out they look so good

Thanks Rory, another great vid. I just don't understand these SUV things! Maybe if you're towing a horse box & need something with a little off-road capability then you might have to use the 'grab handles'. Otherwise buy a big estate/people carrier. 9 speed gearbox? My S5 has 7 & in sport mode doing 70 it's still in 6th. Diesel is on the way out!. All the best.......
