Merry Christmas 🎄thanks for sharing 🌹
ОтветитьThank you!! You saved me
ОтветитьI'm still having trouble...on the knit side, I bring the yarn to the front, slip purlwise, and pull up. But when I pull up, it does not create a double stitch. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
ОтветитьMy GSR and on my experienced friend’s works both left holes
ОтветитьYour videos are so clear, helpful and well done,
,
I'm glad that I'm not the only one, who doesn't understand why these work. Maybe one day... Thank you.
My first socks were just "turn, & go back". It worked, & no holes. That must be the simplest way. At the time I didn't know that there was any other way. Oh...ignorance is bliss. :))
Awesome work💝😃💛♥🌹
ОтветитьThank you, thank you, thank you! I am so delighted to learn this. It is so easy. Thank you so much for teaching this!
ОтветитьThank you so much for the very clear instructions. I was getting confused looking at other videos. I'm still a little confused about how to translate this into a pattern that calls for regular wrap and turn but I'll work on it. Thanks again!
ОтветитьI've been searching for a German short row tutorial for MONTHS!!!! Of course I liked and subbed!! 😁
ОтветитьBom dia 👸🏻 princesa! Aguardo resposta. 😘bj e um abençoado domingo pra vc 💐👋👋
ОтветитьExcellent video topic! You answered several questions I had. Thank you!
ОтветитьHello, I am trying to swap the wrap and turns the pattern calls for for the GSR, and I understand that you add one extra stitch before you GSR than the pattern had called for - do you also do this when it says ‘knit to 4 sts before the wrapped stitch’? So I would knit to 3 sts before? Or do I keep it as 4? Thank you! 😊
ОтветитьHad been hesitant to knit socks because of the heel/toe methods. All other techniques were intimidating. Then I learned the “German Short Row”. Been making socks ever since!
ОтветитьThis looks so amazing! No holes! But, please tell me: Does this method work the same way when knitting top-down?
ОтветитьWow! That you for this simple to follow video! I’m a top down sock knitter trying my first toe up socks. The pattern calls for German short row heel with double stitch. I put my knitting down for two months because I was so puzzled. After watching your video, I’m no longer afraid to proceed with my socks. Yay!
ОтветитьI've been trying to do german short rows for a year and i dont know why i still can't get it right...? I've watched SO many tutorials. im challenged lol.
Ответитьlove how clear and straightforward this is i was unsure if the the wrap was supposed to be an increase
ОтветитьI hadn't ever seen these techniques before. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьLove your sweater
ОтветитьBrilliant, Thank you for sharing, very helpful info. 🌼🌺🌸
ОтветитьThank you for this video. It's as clear as a bell, now that I've seen it done. Question...love the short sleeved cardigan you are wearing and wondered if you remember the pattern? Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you so much...this will definitively make my life so much easier!
ОтветитьWould this be for a tie up sock pattern
ОтветитьThis was a life-saver for me today!!! Thank you
ОтветитьOMG! I hereby dub you Professor of Knitting Tutors!!! Everyone else's tutorial was sooooo convoluted and unclear that I did and undid my knitting a gazillion times and contemplated setting fire to it. Thank you so much wonderful lady .. you are the archangel of Knitting fumblers such as myself. You have saved the day, bless you. 💖💖💖
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьWhat a GREAT technique!! I actually never heard of it until I bought a new pattern from Shibui knits. Asymmetrical tee. What pattern did you use for that beautiful short sleeve sweater you are wearing?
ОтветитьLove the cardigan you wear!
ОтветитьThank you for this tutorial on German Short Rows. I'm doing a cowl collar that has a 1X1 twisted rib. Are the directions the same for W&T or the Japanese or German Short Rows if you are doing a knot or purl stitch? Do the directions only change depending on if you are doing the right side or the wrong side of the garment?
ОтветитьYou should be commended on your honesty! I have watched soooo many continental knitting tutorials and yours if by far the easiest to follow. 'Love your attitude about knitting in general and I agree with you completely that either English or Continental is fine. Yet, it's nice to know both. Thanks for the great video! 👍👍👍
ОтветитьDo you have a video showing how to add short rows in the round? I’m working on a sweater and would like to build up the back so the collar is higher than the collar in the front. I tried this technique and ended up having some yarn-over stitches that I had to drop. Thanks for any advice!
ОтветитьMy mom had been singing the praises of German Short rows for years, but I finally encountered a pattern that requires them. As always, your video was exactly what I needed!
ОтветитьYou are a lifesaver, I have been trying to learn how to pick up wraps for literal years
ОтветитьOh my word, I have been struggling with short rows. This technique looks great and I am going to use it in my next project. Thank you!
ОтветитьWell, I've watched 20 GSR videos and I FINALLY understand it. Thank you SO much, I got it!!!
ОтветитьIs there a way with Knit Companion to add this video link on German short rows to the pattern I am working on?
ОтветитьCan you demonstrate German short row knitted with continental stich ?
ОтветитьI think I love you!😁
ОтветитьThank you so much, your explanations are so very clear.
ОтветитьThank you so much for your video! So well explained! And the cardigan you are wearing is lovely. May I ask if you used a pattern? Thanks again!!
ОтветитьThank you for this great tutorial for GSRs. On the first GSR u say to knit one extra than the pattern calls for but on all the subsequent GSRs u don’t. My pattern is to slope the front of a cardigan, so only one side, the top, has w & ts. Do I knit an extra stitch each time I do at GSR at the top of the cardi? Thank you.
ОтветитьAlso, I love the cardi u are wearing in this video. Can u tell me where I can get this pattern pls? It is very cute!
ОтветитьThanks! What if you want to use w&t instead of doing German short rows making double stitches? Do I have to add things to my pattern 🤔 right now I have "knit to last 58, turn and make double stitch" for example
ОтветитьThank you so much - recommended by the pattern I was working on and really helped. Hxxx
ОтветитьI knit socks cuff-down on tiny size 0 DPNs and have always done a traditional heel flap with decreases and a gusset. I want to try the neater-looking turned heel with GSRs but have not found a single tutorial with anyone using DPNs to knit socks. Everyone is using Magic loop, toe-up, two-socks-at-a-time techniques and continental knitting. Yours is the first GSR tutorial I've seen with just regular knitting with the working yarn in your right hand, using DPNs (not continental!). I think I can adapt this to my old-fashioned sock knitting techniques and do a GSR heel. Thank you!
ОтветитьI just bought a pattern on ravelry, requiring German short rows, but they didn’t explain how to do them. I watched on the Brooklyn tweeds channel since that’s the yarn called for in my pattern (and my phone knew this 😂 I guess because I also admittedly did do a quick search for that exact yarn) and in the other video it was explained just fine, but he didn’t make the distinction between these and wrap and turns…so I felt a little insecure since it had been a while. Then I saw a Very Pink Knits explanation and yay! I’m ok…🙏🙂 I actually watch your videos a lot and I always appreciate how quickly you get right to the point and just do what you need to do. Thank you so much you are always truly appreciated.
ОтветитьAhhh. Now it makes sense. I was a little distracted because I was admiring your sweater. So happy to see you shared a link! 😊
