So, if Excellent is the second game in the series, I assume you are referring to the FM-Towns version, right? Does it have the same music as the Playstation version, or does it sound different?

Yes, the FM-Towns version sounds different. All PlayStation, Saturn and perhaps Windows versions' BGM are equal to each other. The Sharp X68000 version has three versions of its BGM: FM (or Internal), Roland SC-55 and Yamaha TG-100. The PC Engine CD-ROM2 version's BGM sounds similar to its successors, but lighter. Don't know what the original FM-Towns version sounds like, but the FM-Towns Excellent version has a different MIDI sound. Download the BGM by Googling "Asuka 120% ffshrine".
