Bought a brand new 2070 Super when they came out and haven't upgraded since. The only comparable card at the same MSRP is Zotac's Twin Edge 3070 which would only get me a 25% performance increase. Unless I get a lot richer very soon, for me, paying another $500 isn't worth it unless it can double my performance. The 4070ti was interesting at first, but at $800, it's still not quite worth it unless I end up coming into some money that I don't mind spending.

The whole point of an "upgrade as you go" custom PC, for me, was to make keeping up with modern PC performance a piecemeal process that was more affordable than buying a whole-ass new PC every few years. When the GPU upgrade starts to be more expensive than my Series X (which is now outperforming my PC in some games btw), it's a really hard sell.

Stashing my acorns for a 2070 Super. I've got no reason to go beyond that.

Real test of patience in this market, though 😬

I clicked because I wanna feel good about my 2070 super 😆, it came on my first gaming PC (prebuilt) and is now worth more than the whole PC cost me when I bought it lmao. I'm gonna build my first gaming PC and hopefully get a 3080ti, but only if I can get it at MSRP. If not its kool because my 2070 super handles all games and i love it so much, I don't see myself getting rid of it unless its to hand down to a loved one.

People need to remember that, depending on the business type, you cannot just have a business purchase stuff and then use it at home/personal - even if just for tax reasons.

I run a Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC, and I'm more than happy with it. I also have a 32" 1440p 75Hz monitor and a 27" 1080p monitor connected to it. I'm more than happy with how it's performing.

My son has one of these in his rig R73800X, 32gb, 3tb SSD. Due to shortages and crazy prices for gpu's, we decided to keep it and upgrade his budget 23 " 1080p 60hz monitor to a 24.5" 1080p 240hz monitor as the prices for these are sensible. I think the smoothness and responsiveness of the new monitor alone should be a nice step up until it's worth investing in a new gpu.

I have had the Rtx 2070 Super myself for over 11 months, I have been playing on a 1080p monitor with 75 fps lock, I do not need more, for this screen it is the maximum. That's enough for me, and like I have played a lot of games on the msi afterburner card, there is always a reserve of power, with one exception ... CP2077 this game shows my card with the middle finger. :)

I have been looking ALOT into the 3080,70,60's... etc. And I use a 2060 overclocked to 2070 Super speeds (dunno if I got lucky with that). And so I really like this video you did. Because in the back of my mind I just do not see upgrading before a new card can double the performance of 2070 Super speeds. Now if a card can double 2070 Super speeds/FPS rates at an Overclock then I would consider strongly upgrading. Also love Tech and Rogue's thought processes, they are very grounded and logical. They are saving us all money and frustration by helping us figure out the "GPU math" that most won't explain to you. Thanks

Hi there, would u recommend I buy rx 5700xt or rtx 2070 super for an extra 40 pounds (I will mostly play Microsoft flight sim 2020, fifa, f1 2020, Apex, world of tanks/worships) also bare in mind that 5700 xt new drivers make it faster than rtx 2070 super in a few games like f1 2020 but is slower at flight sim

Yeah...I am definitely a 4K snob lol. I got bit by the 4K bug when I got a 4K 60Hz monitor after trying 1080p 144Hz. Though I did like the crisp visuals I miss my 144Hz more. So I went 1440p 144Hz. Rode with that for a few years while 4K got cheaper. Now I have an Acer Predator 4K 144Hz and will be getting one of the beefy cards soon enough. It's nice because I can't still render at 1440p or use resolution scalping if I need to for better fps but I hope over the next few generations that 4K will become much more achievable and accessible.

Sounds more like laziness/not wanting to tear apart the personal PC than anything else, honestly. Why wouldn't you put something better in your machine if you have the ability and it costs nothing?

My 2070s started acting weird, the fans went from like 1800 rpm to 4200 rpm for a couple of seconds and then after another 3-5 minute it would rev those fans up again feeling like it was going to take off with my case. I returned it since it was still in warranty and I am still waiting for it...sent it on the 12th of October and no news yet about it. It was the Aorus rtx 2070 super if anyone's curios.

And yes I did try, removing the panels from my case, adding a room fan on top to cool it and give it more air, reinstalling bios, windows, video drivers etc...nothing worked.
