Unfortunately he didn't know the backstory apparently Kirk had a little problem controlling himself with the ladies he was larger than life on screen I loved him too but now that I hear all the stories of how abusive they was I hope he rots in hell where there's smoke there's fire my friend and don't you ever forget that no matter what they tell you and I'm not talking about being an a**** or being a jerk or even a macho man I'm talking about sexual abuse physical abuse two people that are under your care and instruction just like parents are responsible for the upbringing of their children under standards of action

You have to love this heartfelt tribute! Harris is the kind of person who knows exactly why he's there that night, and you just know he means every word of what he says!

Harris playing McCabe in Jim Sheridan’s The Field (1990). Washed up, renowned as an unreliable drunk, Harris sobered up and begged for the part. Got an Academy nod for it. A film that knows that land matters more than blood. John Hurt.

It's amazing that saying 'thanks' costs nothing, but means so much. It also shows that being kind and generous need not be by means of money, but by both kind and decent words and actions. We need so much for of these values to play out in life. It's a lovely clip.

His son Jared has VERY similar mannerisms—voice, cadence, pacing—in his speech similar to his dad minus the accent, and he’s just as talented.

I knew Richard Harri's Cousin a Jesuit Priest who lived in Limerick. every time Richard would come back to Limerick he always sought out Fr. Paddy and instead of saying hello he had the same greeting "Paddy are you still praying for me you're my only hope of getting into Heaven" Fr. Paddy lived to be age 99 so I am certain Richard made it into Heaven. I met him once in Limerick what an amazing story teller I just sat there listening and laughing at his stories.

Nice heartfelt appreciation. .... Apparently Harris had NO IDEA that Kirk Douglas had raped Natalie Wood when she was a minor or would have spit in his face instead. She was 17 and desperately seeking a screen test when Douglas lured Her to his office with his Big Star status and a bag of FALSE promises then raped her. ... Always remember him as a totally evil POS.
