What to happened step Zero, a shot of starter fluid? If it tries to start or run, it's a fuel issue and the pump steps are great way to start trouble shooting. If no attempt to start, it's another issue.

There's also a fuel pump module you should check under spare tire Up to left on 05 at 250 that should be checked as well

This a question for professionals only. Don't answer if you don't know what you're talking about. So the only question I have at this point before I change my fuel pump, is will a faulty fuel pump cause arcing on a fuel pump harness?

Also I’ve learnt on an old car the fuel filter is easy to change and if that’s really dirty could be a problem

I have a 1998 buick century. The car sat for about 3 years with a half a tank. I bought the car for 300. And a used engine 80k miles for $1200. Install $1500. He didn't drain the gas and I I know it's got gunk in the tank. The fuel pump decides when it wants to work. Does a fuel pump do that before it goes out? Or is it just clogged?

Yes, yes, yes...but what is a 'failing fuel pump'? I hear this tossed around when most likely it's a bad injector, filter, or other. This vid seems to confirm my thought that they are binary: fuel pumps work or they don't. Not starting is a good sign of bad pump (or relay or fuse as you show), but jerks, hesitations, power? Could that be a 'failing fuel pump'? Please educate us.

I have a GMC 2500 HD with the 6.0 vortec in it and keep getting a hesitation/ miss/ shake whatever you want to call it but when I get in it wide open from a stop it sounds like it’s about to choke out and almost backfires. I have also noticed while idling in park when I accelerate it definitely has a delay and when I hold the rpm a certain level they will slowly start to drop even though my foot hasn’t moved at all… I’m only getting 02 codes so I replaced the one and after realizing it had 4 just decided to unplug to see if it would run better but nope! Then I checked the cats to make sure they wasn’t clogged by unscrewing the 2 upstreams and still runs like shit, lastly I did all new plugs and sea foam in tank, oil, filter, cleaned maf, changed tranny fluid and filter (just because it looked dirty) I did a spark test in every coil, and a noid test on all injector wires… I also did a fuel pressure test which doesn’t work without engine running on the later model 6.0’s I’m assuming. The fuel pressure did jump from 40-60 but then levels out at 60 a tad shaky and when I throttle it, it doesn’t move much… the fuel pump for this truck is a $500 pump so I’m trying to make sure I get it right. It seems it runs the worst between 500-1000 rpm’s. If I barely tap the gas pedal at idle she sounds like she’s got
Something stuck in her throat and need a cough. Sorry for the book I wrote but I’m desperate and help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'd check voltage at the fuel pump, before tearing out the gas tank. Just me though. Also keep in mind the different systems on different manufactures. Fords have an inertia switch that may go bad and disrupt power to the fuel pump itself. One reason I'd check voltage to the pump. Other cars tend to have ignition switch issues, like Honda, where you can wiggle the ignition switch and the pump gets power. Some vehicles have tank selectors that go bad. This video only talks about the tip of the iceberg, and very lightly on diagnosis..

got a problem with 2006 Audi A3 2.0turbo..
it has some sort of electrical issue where the rear lights won’t turn off when turning off car so my solution is to take out one of the battery lines the + 🤷‍♂️
so had radio on while chillin in car and car wouldn’t start, so while waiting for tow guy to give me jump inside I was in middle of no where I decided to check the inside car and engine compartment fuses [genius!!]... idea was to pull them out and check but not put it in completely and find which might be problem etc don’t know if that made sense..
well in process I lost one that fell in compartment no where to be found..
So put all back and got the jump and now car would try and turn over but won’t start so had tow guy get me some gas since it was low and nothing..
towed it to shop and they saying well #28 fuse which is for right passenger window won’t work tho fuse good which is something i also noticed..
this window thing new on right passenger side..I hear the low clicking or whatever sound related to window when I try and out it up yet ain’t moving stuck in down position tho fuse is fine..this again happened after this situation.
mechanic I towed it to says well we could change the whole fuse box cause he feels that’s what needs done tho everything else is working fine other then the right window and car not turning over?
towed it back and now trying to figure it out myself since mechanics thinking is it might be this or that and another which would mean me forming out more then what car is worth..
any help in rectifying this would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance
