Great work! Thanks for posting. I'm a new subscriber! I was thinking about doing something similar but use my long garage wall where my chopsaw would be and have the various tools flipping up on either side, etc... Thanks for the great ideas? As this is the first time I am visiting your page, do you have plans for sale by the way?
ОтветитьThere are a LOT of great ideas and execution brought together in this single workshop item! Great job in designing and building it and thank you very much for sharing this explanation. Now all I have to do is figure out which components I want to incorporate into my assembly/outfeed table!
ОтветитьYour animations are more helpful than watching you build it. Great presentation and creative ideas!
ОтветитьYou should mount those clamps on that thin space. Maybe some chisels
ОтветитьIt would be nice to see a video that explains the folding mechanism in more detail. Great work 🎉
Ответитьan idea for the space you have not filled would me make a series of French cleat trays that can have holes drilled in to hold router bits. you could have a tray for each type of bit, so when you want to use them, pull the one tray off, find the one you need, and stow the rest back in place. French cleats can be done with fairly thin stock, when they are only holding a pound or so of bits.
ОтветитьMy preferred design for the bench I'm thinking about. Well done.
ОтветитьIt looks like there's enough space to make a bit storage in that empty space you don't know what to do with.
ОтветитьReally impressive, love the design, great job.
ОтветитьNot only did I like this video I subscribe. Brother this thing is genius. I will be ordering the plans as well. Though I have a lot more room than you do I need every square foot of my garage
I can get. Thanks again. Keep up the great vids
Simple is always the best. Great video. Could you please provide the overall dimensions? I have no basement or garage and am considering purchasing a trailer as a workshop.
ОтветитьIf we choose to not use the Cam lifting mechanism, the bottom of the workbench is pretty much standard "flat base" correct?
ОтветитьThis solves the problem I've been seeing with most flip tops is that they don't end up with a usable surface that's level with everything else when the tool is stored. I don't WANT to be having tools on each side. If I have a table saw up, I need that level with the other surfaces. Although I'm not sure the tools become level with the surface. At that point I'd just move the tool normally for storage. So maybe height of the underside surface/counter top and where the pivot is located will help with this. If I need a mitre saw up, I need the same. I had been considering flips with armatures and other ideas, but this is very much a Less-Is-More system. The only thing I'd maybe also consider a spring loaded locking pin, but that again may not be necessary.
Ответить❤ Super I no spek englis
ОтветитьWell done and well explained. genuine ..
ОтветитьLowering the tools down also lowers the center of gravity making it more easy to move because it will be less top heavy
ОтветитьI am most likely going to make 2 of these both with fewer tools in each mainly to reduce the weight of the bench . But think I will come up with a way to join the 2 togther when in use in an l shaped
ОтветитьOne of the better videos / workbenches I have seen of this type . Which is what I want to do flip the tools down out of the way out of site for storage
ОтветитьWow that’s an amazing compact workbench.
ОтветитьCongratulations - I have seen searching for a bench solution for my tiny workshop and that is the best design I have seen by far!
And, to be fair, the edge banding might be unnecessary but Dude, it looks great!
Thank you!
Hi. This looks great. Was wondering if I bought the plans does it include an editable cad file? I might need to modify the height of the workbench
ОтветитьI would put router bits in the empty door otherwise top notch work 🤙🏻
ОтветитьI agree with the many comments that your flip top method is brilliant; thankyou for sharing
ОтветитьMaybe drill bit, screwdriver, and or chisel storage in your other small compartment. All in all, excellent build and execution!
ОтветитьThanks for the video, I'm very impressed with the design and plan to build my version of this flip table. One question as you do not show exactly the thickness of the pipe you use. Where did you get the pipe and what is it's exact diameter? You state the 1/4" spacer and 3/4" spacer that butts up against the pipe must be just a little thicker than 1". All the pipe I'm finding is well over 1" Diameter, more like 1.055". 1/4" plywood and 3/4" plywood are both under 1/4" and 3/4", then there is the aluminum spacer which I'm finding available is .025"
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated...
Wow man, great engineering! It’s brilliant how the doors are part of the stability!
ОтветитьI really like your design. I wish you had a little more of the build, I’d like to see more of how you built the frame and started filling it.
ОтветитьFantastic job
Ответить
size/make of casters used? amazon link?
ОтветитьГениально!
ОтветитьBrilliant.
ОтветитьBro. This thing is awesome. Is NASA hiring?
ОтветитьWow! Well done and so cool. Great computer work and editing!
ОтветитьUse the extra space for drill bits
ОтветитьAn Idea for the empty space behind the door ? Looks like a nice place to hand wrenches and screwdrivers , and more small stuff each at it's own place. Or a set of drill bits, router bits ear plugs safety goggles Or a home bar with beer bottles, glasses etc. (ha ha ha) Kind regards Hans
ОтветитьExcellent bench… anyone who has built a bench always has something to do better next time around!
ОтветитьGreat ideas!
Thanks
Some really good ideas in there. I especially like the 'what would I do differently' section. I found that especially helpful. The simple locking system for the tools is brilliant.
ОтветитьDude!!!! Awesome!
ОтветитьAbsolutely fantastic!!!
ОтветитьThis is genius fargen awesome 😎 can we purchase a detailed plan ?
ОтветитьVery impressive design. The method for securely locking the tool base is brilliant. Your presentation, explanations and final photos are all we need to design our own. Dimensional plans would not be much use since everyones' tools are a different size! I was wondering if a few strategically placed electrical outlets in some of the doors would allow you to have a single power connection to the whole unit.
Ответитьsuch a great video! work love to learn more about your design workflow process and the software you use.
ОтветитьCouldn’t you rewire the tools running/snaking all power cables to the empty space on the side of the bench (the section you don’t know what to do with). And make that your power source of the cabinet with a central ac connection.
ОтветитьPutting magnets on the grinder shields may be useful
Ответитьjust bought the professional sawstop(mostly due to your recommendation) i’m going to build your multiple tool workbench.
is there an “easy” way to change the workbench height?
or
do i just need to use your post build solution (raise the saw)
ken
btw
really enjoy your sincerity an humbleness
