Julia by Jon Renau 56F51 "Oyster" Silver/Grey and White Wigs

Hi I actually think the Oyster is very pretty on you and more dimensional than the white.

Wigs are wigs. They are a reason to help all who have no hair. They are also an excuse to increase self absorption and vanity That's why I don't feel wigs say much about who we are, more than what we want to be. Others come to know us by our wigs, not our true self.

I personally love the oyster on you, it looks natural and believable.
I’m not sure I like the winter white, it looks like a wig .

Thanks for your honest, objective reviews! I am thin on top and am looking for a good topper (I have white/silver hair) that is practical and has some length. As a professional, 60+ woman I don´t want anything crazy or too thick.

I just ordered Julia in Palm Springs blond. I hope it’s a keeper. I am a pale golden blond going silvery white. I love my own hair color and hoping I can deal with rooting, thank you for the great review of Julia. I think it looks so natural in Oyster in you. Does not look wiggy or fake.

When you pulled the front back and cliped it I thought it was your hair until you pulled it up. Looks good. I know, I'm watching old videos and you have probably tossed it.

Oyster is my natural color. I’ve purchased 3 different wigs from Godiva’s Secret Wigs all in Silver Stone. Love that color. You look great in oyster & this wig!

Too much hair in the face

I think it looks great! I think the Oyster gives you more dimension. I've been afraid of Oyster because I thought it might have some yellow in it. Is it a clear gray? She looks stunning on you! So far I've gotten Chunky Monkey and Gabor's Sugared Charcoal and they were both too dark. Thanks!

I think why you’re feeling there’s too much hair on top, you’ve parted the wig much further over than the intended part, it looks that way to me, change the part closer to the middle. Would you show #38 by John Reneu. I’d love Julia in 38, it has a little more dark, but without seeing a demonstration, I hesitate. Great dem of Julia! There’s a couple of ladies who demonstrate the same name wig, but in different colors side by side, and then they switch out wigs, so we can see how each wig looks on different face shapes. They’ve discovered that the style of a wig will change slightly depending on color.

I found you by accident a few minutes ago, so I'm very late to the party. Sorry! Honestly, I LOVE the "Oyster" color on you. I think it's very attractive. I love the color and style so much that I'm going to go order Julia in "Oyster" for myself. :) I just hope it looks half as good on me as it does on you. Forehead, bangs area looks too heavy. And I agree your real whiter silver is more attractive than the pewter gray silver.

I clicked on this video because I thought that color made you look younger! I'm learning about wigs so I can make a good choice when I go to buy my first wig.

Me too! The Oyster seems to have a little too much yellow tone in it for me, clashes with my skin. I even tried Vanilla once and it looked awful. I just can’t do anything with the slightest hint of yellow. The cooler, the better for me.

I have the same problem with that color. I’m more white then gray. The oyster seems, to me, to have light brown mixed in it which I don’t like. I’ve tried it before. My own color seems prettier when I put on the oyster and yet, the winter sun, even though it’s closer to my own color, seems a bit too monotone. If it had just a little black mixed in, it would be perfect. But I like the style on you because it’s close to your own hair. The lace front is terrific. Ifi were you, I’d just take some thinning shears and thin out the front a little, plus mist it with water and train that front back a little. But these styles on you are great.

This is a beautiful color but I think the lighter grey looks more flattering on you. I am 65 and my bio hair has hardly any grey in it and I wish it would hurry up and turn grey so it would blend with these beautiful greys out there now.

It is so frustrating to order the same color from the same manufacturer to find such variations! I get it about Oyster looking darker in some styles while lighter in other styles. This is my biggest beef!!

You look so good in this color. I saw another video with you in a short Bob in white. Very cute but you look way younger in this color and a little longer. You are so pretty. Oyster is so flattering. Soft. Whatever makes us feel good about ourselves is what is important. The Julia did look heavy on the top but I'm going to check it out. Is it a mono? Can't remember . Thank you for sharing

I think Julia in Oyster looks great on you. It's a lovely cut. Though I'm sure Winter White is flattering as well. I say this one is a keeper. Plus it's nice to have options!

Angela, I like the color and the style on you, but as we both know, you have to feel great about it yourself. It is hard to tell what it looks like through the monitor. I often see things that look gorgeous on other people online, then I get it and am disappointed.

That said, I prefer Oyster to Winter Sun and the real reason is the dimensionality of Oyster. Winter Sun seems flat to me. I have never ordered it but that is my impression. It is also much warmer than Oyster, as far as I can see.

I have two Julias in my colors. The issue for me with Julia is keeping her out of my face. I have so many wigs that I haven't taken the time to train my Julias yet. I will get around to it eventually. The other thing is, despite its being light weight, relatively, the hair seems voluminous on top -- which gives it a lovely style but is more than I am used to, given that my hair, while long, is getting thinner and thinner.

Recently I forced myself to wear Minka for a day and I think doing that has made me realize no one else thinks its too much hair. So I will probably go back to Julia and feel more comfortable with all that hair.

I think Oyster is a gorgeous color but you should get what feels like "you".

This style is just like my neighbor's biohair--except her color is lighter gray. The look is very classy yet boho. Nice. Have you tried or considered Julia in Martini (white around the front)? Anyway, ultimately it comes down to what you feel looks best on you--and that sounds like the 60. I tried a Julia a few years ago, in 12fs8. The heavy front drove me batty, and I was never able to get it to settle. Maybe thin it a bit?

This is the color I wear. So glad to find someone who wears gray wigs. FINALLY!

I agree that the color is not as pretty on you. The whites are better for you.
