Es una hermosa y conmovedora composición.
ОтветитьWho are the performers?
ОтветитьThanks Ant for another excellent upload.
ОтветитьThank you for posting such wonderful music. It is the music of English composer Herbert Howells, which envelops and colours Moon Daisy: a screenplay written by Frank Prendergast and Martin Kirby, currently in pre-production. Search for Moon Daisy Film on Facebook and help bring alive this composers amazing work in a stunning feature.
ОтветитьThank you for posting this miraculous performance of a miraculous piece. You are absolutely right - no English recording exists to match this. Stunning and humbling. And what sentiments for a troubled world. Howells looks utter pain and desolation in the face and transforms it to something transcendent and beautiful. How many of us have the perception or moral strength to do that?
ОтветитьWonderful time for reflection!
Ответитьi got to sing the entire requiem with my chorale last year. this movement is honestly one of the most beautiful pieces of music i've ever heard, much less been a part of. you can't tell if the wailing discordant voices are damned souls or a choir of angels
ОтветитьNow this is the Real Thing! ;o)
ОтветитьNice to hear this again... I think the last time I heard it would have been when I sang it as part of the Choir at Norwich Cathedral in the early 80s. We recorded a double album (vinyl) of Herbert Howells. If you like this Requiem (and it is incredibly moving) then have a listen to "Take him Earth for Cherishing" another Requiem by Howells. It pretty much always brings me to tears .. incredible piece of music.
ОтветитьThis is surely one of the most beautiful and masterful pieces of choral music ever written. Excellently performed as well.
ОтветитьTechnically the Hymus Paradisi was Howells' response to his son's death, drawing on material from the Requiem. But beautiful music nonetheless.
Ответить@1Fairypoppy You are a most perceptive person Fairypoppy. DO tarry a while - lots more to do ;)
Ответить@AntPDC You are so right of course AntPDC! I was born there, lived there and intend to depart from there, but not yet, just may tarry awhile....your captures and accompanying music are quite wistful and magical if I may say so,thank you once again ......
