In the end, what separates a Man from an Act?

Too bad that movement and combat is slow and clunky. At least on the controller.

If Bioshock’s story was a novel, we would be reading these in high schools right next to 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.

If Bioshock came out today I feel like a lot of people would call it woke propaganda trash XD It seems to be the popular go to for people who hate something now.

Fn sad world man...the killing, the gore, ect. doesnt phase me. It's the animal abuse as entertainment that gets me. Break your brothers neck or something, but leave the animals out of it.

Nothing in this game made my stomach twist more than finding out in one of Dr. Steinman's audio logs that he was a plastic surgeon citing PICASSO as the inspiration for his work.
Um... yeah, fuck everything about that.

The short version is, it isn't a masterpiece.

Its gameplay is a stripped down version of its predecessor's, and its narrative contradicts its own messaging. It is quite simply one of the most spectacularly overrated games of all time.

Your intro couldnt have hit the nail more on the head.. new gaming is just sad these days. With the micro transactions, making new patches, paying for absolute garbage rewards, paying to win, making another patch, needing a subscription, having to wait forever for DLC, making a 3rd patch, etc etc.

I still can't decide if Bioshock or Bioshock Infinite is the better game. They are both fantastic. Both are so good that they make Bioshock 2 seem like a bad game (it's not) in comparison.

If you watch the short documentary on "the bioshock infinite that never exisited" and it makes sense why infinite is the way it is. They originally made it verrrry dark and gloomy. You arrive and the revolution is already underway. You walk around as police are execute by the vox. Just dark dark dark.

It was exactly the same style of intro as bioshock 1. They wanted to do something different. There is a lot more combat. I too prefer the amount of combat in 1. However, it makes sense in infinite. If you think about it. If you went to rapture right at the start of the rebellion, there would be fights everywhere. Because there's still tons of people around. The rebellion has plateaued and most people have died. So of course there's way less people around to "deal" with.

The plot in infite is very ambitious and works. I've never seen foreshadowing done better.. SPOILER ALERT As soon as you open your eyes you have the luteces spilling the beans about the fact that you've experienced this before. "He doesn't row?" "No. He DOESN'T row".

There's so many levels to the ideology of the city and the way they link it back to rapture, especially in the dlc, is nuanced and beautiful.

Bioshocks twist is the gaming equivalent of when you found out that bruce willis was a ghost.

I was pretty intimidated of trying Bioshock, and that's without taking into account the fact that I haven't played a FPS before (I just am not really interested in those in general), but I admit I kind of got convinced I should try it after watching your video ! The way everyone talks about it so passionately is amazing, I really am eager to discover the amazing story and worl of the game now

Part of why I love fort frolic so much, is once you've used the weapon upgrade underneath Sinclair spirits, every spider splicer is silent and covered in plaster. Adds an extra level of horror when you don't hear them coming 👌

The best part about the reveal is that the command is disguised as a request which gives the illusion of choice

Started playing this game last weekend, when I was presented with the choice of either harvesting or rescuing the first little sister, I literally sat there for 5 minutes or more pondering my own morals

I was leaning towards harvesting, but my god my conscience wouldn't let me do that considering the little sister was quivering in a corner.

Thus I rescued her and all the subsequent little sisters, and I can safely say that I'm glad I made that choice

This game was made in mid 2000s and is still so much better than any garbage put forth today.

The world changed so drastically in just 15 years…

Makes you wonder, perhaps Cern opened a portal, or manifested abandon or Apollyon from the bottomless pit. Perhaps we are in the end days of the known world…

I know you’ll never see this because it’s been 3 years and there’s thousands of comments, but just want to say that you summed up perfectly why this game is not only incredible but also a masterpiece in the genre. Also on a side note, I actually love Bioshock Infinite almost as much as the first one for different reasons.

"Would you kindly" falls flat because I didn't do any of that stuff because I was compelled, but rather that I found Atlas to be a compelling Ally. To me, they could have left it tat that, and still have a compelling story.

Omg, I just played bioshock and had no idea I didn't have to kill Sander Cohen. When he came down the stairs I shot at him and started this whole fight. I guess that says something about how suspicious the game makes you. I had so little trust in the game not to try and kill me then that I shot first.
