GOG: The BEST Digital Platform!

Best platform in PC gaming.

Hello, I know its been 4 years since video released.
I do have one question, regarding the 'DRM' that if the company ever fell out of bussiness, won't be a problem, owning your game (which is great).
But if they do, I guess the site won't work, thus you won't be able to download your game. So, does this mean, that games you had downloaded on your PC are the once saved, and the rest of your library which gone ?
Meaning you would need to backup every game on HDD/SSD, so you would have backup plan, for such case(?)

Will you one day cover the supposed decline of gog that bellular news mentioned last year.

if i had a choice i think it would be gog... gog gives you substantially more control by having the game installer on your machine and not requiring a service app (steam) to run the game in single player

bought 3 games from this hub and don't have access to them no response beware heard there have money issues

Not all games just work on gog what are you talking about ? Got so many crashes and freezes from some not all games on gog we need remasters! But done in a good way and not change anything else keep it classical and original to be able to run on modern hardware

I like how i started looking for ways to play a child hood game i played on my grandmas computer (game was croc) to now looking into retro pc games in a matter of 30 minutes. Im noq going to be using gog instead of steam, because i dont have as good of internet access as most of the world, and this would help me out greatly. This seems to be a site based around the idea of archiving everything game related that is pretty much forgotten on the internet from a really cool era.

GOG stands for "Good old Games", which means the site has many old games from the 1990s to early 2000s. Yet it has many games from present day. What gives?
Maybe in the future when these games becomes old, it makes sense.

I just started my collection tonight! 😁 I'm collecting 2D adventure/ RPG games like Cat quest 1 & 2 I have an Intel i7 520 vram 130? I believe with 16 GB those specs suck for gaming I know lol 😂 but I have to work with what I got.

Any time I play a game the game runs separate add the app pops up and it keeps my mouse over the screen shots of the game and if I move my mouse it bounces back to the screen shots wtf

I went to this site... there is no way to contact them about questioins...lol... how do they expect people to know what's going on? When you buy a game from this site do you get the game installer? or the installed game?? Do you get disks in the mail? IDK....It would be nice if you could contact them.

Awesome video addressing my favorite games platform! I agree 100% that this is the closest we can get to the golden era of physical, big box gaming. Plus, I still love CD Projekt, I really don't care what the haters say. They're still among the most consumer-friendly companies in the industry and GOG is just outright my main games platform. If GOG were to start selling wallet cards in stores like Steam does, I'd literally ONLY shop on GOG unless a specific game wasn't on there.

Pc exclusives would be a great. Devs won't have to waste time on consoles which are basically low end pc's.

If it werent for the Total War games Id never use Steam again.

I love gog! It’s also cool that you can sync other platforms so that all of your other games bought on Steam, etc, can be shown in your gog library.

GOG is awesome. I really love what they are doing over there. One thing I love is that I know which developers I should be supporting when they give us DRM-free options. Galaxy isn't even required at all but I personally love using it. It's a really awesome platform for someone who is infatuated with numbers and information and seeing how many hours I have across all my games on each store's library and it definitely saves me the hassle of doing the monthly tally-ups of hours I used to do prior. I also love double dipping on GOG because again, the developers that release their games there and keep them updated like on Steam are the ones worth supporting. I will forever love Nihon Falcom for releasing Trails, Ys, Xanadu and Zwei on to GOG. God knows I'll have the entire Nihon Falcom collection on GOG this summer.

i literally just bought all 5 prince of persia games on steam for 1.99 a piece, just sands of time alone on gog is 9.99, i fail to see how it is the best platform.

I just knew about gog recently. Cant you play steam games offline? So why does it matter if they go out of business?

I exited the game to do some work and now can't even re-launch the game! Seriously, who designed this launcher platform?? Big "Play" button at the top that is ghosted out (why?)

I ran across GOG looking for Diablo 1 and have wanted to learn info about the website before buying games on it.
Thanks to this video I plan to hop over and "Return to the town of Tristram." Once more.
The library of games is impresssive and if they all work on modern pc's then that makes me a very VERY happy gamer.
I love steam... but I miss my classics.. or rather classics that dont take funnny methods to make work.
If i can just go, buy Diablo, and then PLAY diablo.. then ill be happy.
