Interesting and informative. Excellent photography job/drawings enabling viewers to better understand what/whom the orator is describing. Unfortunately the Kremlin never implemented the communist manifesto the way it was intended to be used.

As soon as Russia be free from Oligards, Kremlin and Putin that controlling the wealth of Russia particular that money are invested in Switzerland now for their own benefits there is no future for Russia right now, but it may the system change and people in Russia benefit. I feel pity for the young one right now that there is no future for them and eldery one that suffering financial.

Was Gorbachav a US spy? Is the US a comunist nation? It surely is not capitalist.
Corrupt Gov officials exist in all systems. Oligarchs running the system.

Something important to know, for all who are interested in history and/or support Ukraine:

Rus' ought not to be confused with modern “Russia”, which derives its name from the Rus' but historically is a completely different state, which almost all its existence was at war with the Rus'.

Just like the Holy Roman Empire was actually Germany, “Russia” is actually Muscovy, despite their best attempts to convince everybody otherwise.

Its name “Russia" received only in the 18th century, when Peter I simply changed Muscovy’s name into the “All Russian Empire” (Russia originates from Rosia, name used by the Greek Orthodox Clergy in regards to Rus')
Under the reign of Cathrine II Muscovites where even punished for continuing to identify as Muscovites, and were forced to call themselves Russian.

Lands that Russia (Muscovy) claims were part of the original Rus', but actually weren't, are Novgorod, Suzdal, and Ryazan, since in historical texts of XI-XII centuries they are mentioned as separate entities from Rus'. They can be considered parts of extended Rus', although their culture was distinct from main Rus'.

In 1493, Muscovite duke Ivan III appointed himself to be the Great Ruler of All Rus'. No other kings acknowledged that. From that point on Muscovy started to make false claims on Rus' ownership.

“Russia” is an offshoot of Ukraine and not the other way round, despite what Soviet and Russian (Muscovite) historians have been trying to say for years. A Slavicised Finnic, then later, Mongolized offshoot. Kyiv was a developed cultured capital when Moscow was just another swamp village.

Germany used to call itself the Holy Roman Empire, that didn’t mean they became the Romans, and all of a sudden had a right to claim whole of Italy and its history, but yet, that’s exactly what Russia (Muscovy) did in regards to Rus'–Ukraine, which is a horrible injustice!

80's were times when youth of poor occupied eastern European countries seeked for better life. 80's in general were times of youth rebellion. Also Gorbachev was a crucial figure because he was soft. Polish Solidarity was first movement that sealed the destiny of USSR. But very important, long and unsuccessful campaign in Afghanistan contributed to end of Soviet era

To claim that Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin held the same principles, politics and government is a disingenuous and just makes this more of the same Western propaganda. Capitalist does not equal a free market. It means that the mode of production is controlled by those with money, not the workers. This ideology has nothing to do with the failings of the USSR, and the economic strength of the US, which, being the richest country in the word, has the most expensive healthcare, the largest gaps in inequality, as well as faltering education and highest infant mortality of all developed countries. Socialism without Capitalism = Communism. Capitalism without Socialism = Fascism. Neither work for the the people.

If we don't want USSR, why do we need USA? Why USA should NOT be split into pieces like USSR split in 1991.

I recently watched a BBC TV Documentary about this subject. In which it completely dispelled this entrenched version, of who and how the szar was overthrown by Bolshevism ( led by Lenin).
OH NO IT WASN'T. It was the Peoples revolution, headed by Women, which grew beyond all expectations. They even persuaded the Royal Guards not to fire on the people. Lenin was still abroad in Switzerland, and as known, the Germans helped him take a very indirect route around Northern Europe, to avoid being detected. When he arrived in Moscow, everywhere was Chaos. AND THEN the well known story came into play.

Socialism might have worked well, but USSR was in a region that was not conducive for manufacturing. USA in some ways lucked out because its climate and geography was suited for industrial revolution. Good concept but wrong time and place.

I view communism as more of a condition than a choice, in that circumstances that lead to widespread poverty presents massive challenges regarding a welfare state... such as trying to recover from a world war that required unfair distribution of wealth to remedy widespread disease and famine, and trying to prevent breaking into homes and businesses for food and survival while up against anarchists, foreign militaries, and opposing factions. While many communists want more freedom and wealth, there are many who believe that communism beats the alternative of war, especially a world war. I would not want to live in a communist country or state... nor would I want to be in a state of perpetual poverty and war.

Maybe your friends are ignorant about the USSR but I don't think it's fair to imply that everyone is in general.. I mean... I visited museums dedicated to Soviet and Communist atrocities in Estonia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Georgia, East Germany, Poland, Romania, Lithuania, and Ukraine... often taking locals along with me... and most of them knew something about it. Only places I went where they seemed to want to forget about this history were Serbia, Belarus, and Russia. Though I imagine it's similar in Uzbekistan and maybe Kazakhstan I've just never been there.

The reason why it broke up was because the totalitarian state could no longer perpetuate the myth that they would soon surpass the West economically, and that decades of totalitarian control was in fact liberation.
