There was a medical fraudster in the 1920s who fled the US to Mexico because he was wanted for killing several people with medical malpractice. He set up a radio station in Sonora and began broadcasting his medical quackery as far as he could. His signal was incredibly strong, and people as far north as Utah reported hearing his show in their bed springs
Ответитьthat's an interesting way of listening to the radio...
ОтветитьWOW 😮
ОтветитьI never heard it described as being like a satellite dish with the ground as “the dish and tower as the feed horn”. Doesn't seem right to me. Its a vertical dipole with the opposite side created by the copper wires (ground radials)buried under n the soil and stretching out in length the same height as the tower.
ОтветитьWell that’s crazy!
ОтветитьWhat radio station is this tower for?

ОтветитьThe very first radio transmitters back in the time of the Titanic were "spark transmitters"and the operators (often a Marconi employee) were informally known as "sparks". Here in UK electricians are still called "sparks" .

ОтветитьRAFIQUE MASTOI DG Khan Pakistan 🏝🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
ОтветитьAnd some transmitter tech is wondering why his transmitter keeps kicking off due to overload. If that crew had worked at one of my stations when I was in radio they wouldn't have worked there again. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! The old tube transmitters would handle the mismatch. Solid state transmitters don't like that at all, three occurrences within a couple of seconds and the transmitter will lock out until someone finds the problem.
Ответить"The tower itself is the feedhorn." I wouldn't trust this guy to work on any tower with that sort of "knowledge".
