I cut out everything white. Then, reintroduced one at a time. Milk & ice cream =bloat, but cottage cheese, cream cheese, & yogurt are ok in small amounts. White bread=bloat, sourdough & rye are ok. Pizza bloats me the next morning, but not as bad if I only have 2 pieces & some salad with it. I'd rather eat small snackie meals throughout day, but if a big meal is happening, it feels best at 3-4pm. Walking after meal seems to help bloat a lot.
Overall, we have to experiment & find what works for us individually until the science catches up.

Love that the Doc Amy Shah tells you to do things that don’t cost any MONEY! Wow, take a 30 minute walk in daylight! Don’t eat for 12 hours! Eat foods that are good for your gut! Well, food costs money but those foods give your body more for your money than crap processed foods like sugary cereals, etc. Bravo ❤

Mel, this Podcast with Dr. Amy Shah, has become a favorite of mine. Everybody would be so fortunate to have a Doctor such as Dr. Shah. I am focusing on 12 hour fast between meals, coffee after 1 hr upon rising and even
drinking less coffee than before, 30 minutes of exercise....still working on getting enough sleep. Going thru
Menopause and sleep and lack of sleep is still an issue. Mel, your podcasts are the best!!! I always hear and
learn just what I need that day. I listen to your podcasts over and over....Appreciate You Mel!!!! :) :)

Great information, I also watched a video the other day about how mouthwash and fluoride toothpaste that is used every night kills 99.9% bacteria, good and bad, and is messing with our gut bacteria, killing off all the bacteria’s. He states that we should stop using fluoride toothpaste and using mouthwash that kills 99.9% bacteria because, we need those bacteria’s.

I disagree with having alcohol earlier in the day to disturb gut and sleep less so.. you still get the aftermath once consumed alcohol no matter when during the day/ evening.

This info is good BUT you need to also talk about the Root Cause/why people get bloated in the first place and the reason certain foods/drink make it worse. The root cause is the key. We need to eat vegetables to be healthy. You need to listen to Dr. Berg who will explain in detail the root cause of why we bloat in the first place and what to do to prevent it.

This episode missed a HUGE opportunity to let people know about SIBO small intestine bacteria overgrowth. PLEASE cover SIBO! Women are suffering and not knowing it. I have had terrible bloating for years, while being a very healthy eater. I was in bloated pain after eating anything. I was finally tested for SIBO! I’ve now learned so much and part of a huge FB support group. Please cover it!

I would love to hear her knowledge around heartburn and acid reflux. I recently learned that reflux is from your stomach being too alkaline not too acidic. I've fought with reflux for 20 years and then I learned that it was the exact opposite of what we have been told and what GP doctors will tell you because they'll tell you to take some acid reducer which is the exact opposite of what you should do. I've reversed my reflux. I am in complete control. But now I find that the real triggers of mine aren't the typical culprit your hear about... Bread and pasta. They are the common factor every time I get reflux. It's not the coffee it's the toast. It's not the spaghetti sauce it's the noodles.

I can eat/drink these things to my heart's content and not have an ounce of reflux or discomfort but the second you add grains I'm done for. I can eat pepperoni cauliflower pizza. Same thing. No reflux. Give me a regular pepperoni pizza or even cheese pizza made of pizza dough I'm gonna have a bad night.

I have never seen or read any intermittent fasting info that said eat at night. Just the opposite. All I have read said don’t eat at night and a minimum of 12 hours that includes sleep. I fast 16 to 21 hours. Also when I stopped consuming milk products I stopped daily bloating.

Very interesting these 3 Amy’s F’s morning routine that actually starts the night before:
1) Overnight Fasting (12 hrs between last night dinner & first morning meals)
2) Fitness/Exercise - early morning, better after wake up
3) Food - after exercising, eating early breakfast with including fiber veggies & fermented foods

I hear that all the time. “I gave alcohol up and I felt better I slept better, so much was better”. Why? Why? Do we go back. It is an addictive poison. That’s why. If you can’t find any other reason to give it up for good. Do it for those of us who have been hurt so badly by it. Mel join the fully AF group, and feel the full time super power that comes with it. Be a trailblazer!!!

This was really helpful for me, thank you mel. I always have a gut issue mostof the time. But this have been happening in two years time after i changed my poor diet to a healthy one. Could it be a reason that my stomach becomes upset from the change of food i never used to eat before?

As a moslem, I was surprised as this is all what we have been taught for a healthy life. No alcohol, pray at least 5 times a day ( at least 5-10 min each, kind of yoga exercise), many fasting practices ( not only Ramadhan). Our Prophet Muhammad SAW taught us that we should sleep right after night prayer( Isha prayer) that is about 1 to 2 hour after the sun down. All these knowledge we had it since thousands years ago from Quran, the words of God that has been sent to our prophet Muhammad SAW that at that time who was not even able to read. It is the angel sent from above that taught him all these.

It is so hard to eat healthy, I’m so confused. You eat healthy foods but maybe mixing them with the wrong healthy foods. You stop drinking soda, substitute it with the carbonated water and that’s not good for you. I feel like giving up..Just eat whatever the hell you want 🤷🏻‍♀️

Does she talk about liver health? Alcohol and liver disease? The stomach is bloated with fluid. Classic look of an alcoholic. Big stomach, small legs. My sis works for a Doc that has people with liver disease come in bi weekly to have their fluid released. Classic symptom. Alcohol kills the gut bacteria.

I'm so glad people are giving up alcohol. Its becoming a health trend, which should be obvious, but alcohol companies dont want us to see it. It's sooooo awful for us. Especially for our hormones as we age. ❤ I gave it up 5 years ago and everything in my life has improved.
