ОтветитьSaw this tour at least twice at Santa Monica civic in socal. Brilliant shows every time!
ОтветитьI saw this show at the St. Paul Civic Center Theater - it was brilliant.

ОтветитьMajor props...
ОтветитьThe Kinks "weird" period -mid 70's
ОтветитьBeyond priceless!! I've seen more Kinks koncerts than any other, but never quite like this!
ОтветитьI thought I was the only person in the universe who loved this show piece. Musical friends, you have made me very happy!
ОтветитьThis is incredible...his cap looks neat also
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant!
Ответитьcaptain beefheart cloak, wow
ОтветитьI've seen the Granada TV studio version many times but never this amazing concert. Well, I did see this amazing concert live; 1975 in Philadelphia's Spectrum.
Ответитьan absolute treat. Fantastic!!!!
ОтветитьRay Davies Is King !
ОтветитьI saw the kinks 9 times from 69 to 78 ............... Now that I'm older I appreciate the live concerts even more and this one is sensational.
ОтветитьThank you for uploading this one...YES.
ОтветитьWOW! In spite of the video limitations..... this was a killer insight into the live performances of one of my favorite KINKS Koncept albums. Missed this one live, saw "Schoolboys.." incredible!!! ...and missed (the essential & genius) Preservation tour. Thank you for posting this "DEEP" KINKS video for those who really care!!!!
ОтветитьNo one ever mentions this but... there would NEVER have been... at least not as soon and as bold.... ANY Bowie/Ziggy Bowie/nothing or Mercury/Queen theatrics, if there had not been the theatrical album concept koncert KINKS!!! TELL THE WORLD MOTHERFUCKERS! DAVIES BROS & COMPANY WERE THE CUTTING EDGE!!!! (Don't even bring up the smart sly lyrics of "Lola etc"!)
ОтветитьThank you very much for sharing this. It wasn't half as bad as people use to say. In retrospect, it was far better than many more expensive shows we've seen later on. And, being a songwriter myself, having litterally studied the Kinks' work, I've come to the conclusion that Ray Davies simply can't write a bad song. And we hear more of Dave in the live performance than in the studio album, wich is great too. What can I say? God save the Kinks! They really got me.
ОтветитьDave's is and always has been a awesome lead guitarist up there with the best very underrated just like the kinks them selves.....probably one of the greatest Rock band ever period...the general public doesn't really know the extent of the kinks catalogue(The brilliance of Ray Davis song writing) some of the great songs on those great albums unbelievable and if your here watching this your a true kinks fan and you know those great songs the general public doesn't really know.but it's almost like there just yours it's cool.
Ответитьthis is so great!
ОтветитьVery cool stuff. I didn't know there was any video from this era of the Kinks.
ОтветитьI'm just living this shitty Life all for Art,... Somewhere,..I'm a Star,..
ОтветитьNow we just have to find the preservation footage and i can die happu
Ответитьthe black and white does not give true concept of set design, it was produced as a play as well a concert . a concept well before any kind of video screen. the stand up bed. i have seen over 700 bands with recording contracts. one of the most unique shows ever. one set as the kinks and the other with wigs and glam rock outfits.
ОтветитьThis is a jewel
ОтветитьThank you very much for sharing this incredible material!!!!!
ОтветитьDo any of you think i stand out ? or are we all really ,..just a face ,..in the crowd,..?
ОтветитьCampy show, but that's the point! The performed this at my fist Kinks Koncert, 1975 Palace Theater, Albany NY
ОтветитьThis and "Schoolboys in Disgrace" were the albums that ended my long love affair with the Kinks. Although just a couple years earlier, during the Preservation Act II tour, I'd met them all and even drank beer with them at the Holiday Inn bar in Boston, I was never interested in seeing or listening to them again.
ОтветитьLove the Kinks, from Argentina
ОтветитьFantastic thnxxxxxx
ОтветитьКакой невероятный сюрприз - получить представление о Легендарных концертных выступлениях КИНКС начала и середины 70-х....
Это ФАНТАСТИКА.💥💯
Огромное спасибо!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great Concert. I lost my recording of this live performance years ago. I'm so glad that I found, this recording with video. Thanks for posting!
ОтветитьI remember seeing this Show in the 70’s in the Bristol Hippodrome 😊
ОтветитьThe dancing girls on this are a bit chunkier than the girls they got for the Granada TV show.
ОтветитьRay is so brilliant, but he knows that.
ОтветитьThis is a great artifact of a fascinating and entertaining (if not always wildly popular), of The Kinks history. I very much appreciate your efforts.
ОтветитьSaw this show in May 1975 at Salford University....Ray nearly killed me with a beer bottle hurled high up into the rafters coming down right behind me! He apologised however. The show itself was amusing and well delivered but it was that period where he was stuck in a loop of endless themed things. The Kinks were great at individual songs as opposed to rock operas but I guess those were the times. Still great stuff though....
Ответитьmy very first Kinks concert of many in Phila- I was 14
ОтветитьIs this cleaned up and on Blu ray
ОтветитьI remember seeing the kinks perform Preservation on stage back in 1974 . It was awesome .
ОтветитьThe society was to much hit oriented, this is art at excellents
ОтветитьI was at the shows 1975 at The Beacon Theatre in New York City - thank you !! I appreciate you sharing this with us .
Ответить"Forget that I'm the biggest star in the world."
Ответитьabsolutely brilliant.
ОтветитьThank You! Thank you! This work has been my favorite work of Ray Davies et al by far! It reveals such an empathy for people, and the wonderful ability, kinda like Curt Vonnegutt, to take really deep issues and present them with humor , entertain them, instruct them, and inspire them all at the same time.. This work made me adore Ray Davies, and I still do! One of the great artists any form of his generation
