I often wonder what North America would look like had it still been inhabited mostly by its native population. The way India is populated by Indians or France by the French or Japan by the Japanese.

Also it’s very interesting how they are called native peoples/native Americans. The Chinese are called Chinese because they are from China, but the United States of America isn’t a name of a country the way Russia is a name of a country. America is a continent. The ‘United States’ isn’t a name either. So the native population doesn’t have a name the way Kenyans do, even though in both Kenya and North America there are different tribes. In general Americans from the US don’t have a traditional name.

how come no one on the rez has grabbed their cell phone or a camera and shown the beauty of pine ridge? or told of how people are fighting back against the poverty? show the hope and the strength there.

They should be a Michigan tribe . The casinos in Michigan pay native Americans very well. I've known people getting $80000 a year just for having a certain percentage of native American heritage. There is no need for any participation in the heritage or any knowledge of the heritage. Just be able to provide proof of.
