What if they change the steering wheel and the gas pedal?
Someone need to explain thoroughly how you can spot or check a tampered odometer?!!
I only buy depreciated pos over 10 years old so I don't care. Lol
ОтветитьI'm surprised a Jag made it to 140'000 miles
ОтветитьI bought 2005 toyota sienna xle limited awd today for $4800 with 133k miles on it. I got home went through the old receipts in glove box it shows oil change at 210k miles last year!! Oh wtfffffffff. I was pissd. Im not sure the second owner knows about it or not. But car runs well tho.😢😢😢 I can always swap used engine w low mileage later.. I couldn't decide to ask for my money back or not😢
ОтветитьAn old Jag is always a money pit.
ОтветитьI was suspicious of a nearly new car I bought and contacted Suzuki UK direct.....not interested!
ОтветитьFrom the other perspective… I have a Jeep grand Cherokee with 112,000 miles and a failing CD display. If I'd like to continue using my car I can give the dealer $3000 for backstock seven year old instrument display or I can buy a junker for $90. The junkyard part needs to have the mileage corrected to be consistent with the true mileage of my car – because I'm an honest guy and I'm not selling my jeep. I think what I'm trying to say. Here is not everyone who uses these tools is a scammer… I'm picking up my new instrument cluster today, I'll be using one of these tools to increase the mileage that the previous owner crashed his jeep at.
ОтветитьThe seats are worn...easy to replace brake pedal...
ОтветитьWe bought a car from copart, and the odometer had been rolled back .It was advertised as a 65k mile car, and my scanner showed way over 100k on it. Luckily, it wasn't a big money vehicle
ОтветитьCarfax means nothing, go to a dealership, and have a technician use a laptop to get actual mileage
ОтветитьI asked for a vin # on Fauxbook Marketplace, and .... silence.....
ОтветитьAND where is the law that put thief in jail for this? It's clearly a fraud and should be punished to the fullest. Oh, I forgot politicians are driving brand new cars with taxpayers' money, so they don't even care.
ОтветитьIncredible???
ОтветитьThis is why I don’t buy nothing used
ОтветитьYou do realise that rubber cover of pedals are the easiest to be replaced with new ones. Steering wheel can do .
Look all over the car to gauge the wear and tear. Under the hood and under the car and inside interior .
This was 5 years ago and it's likely worse today. Auto should be made to keep this from happening. But then the buyer would pay a few thousand for that feature.
ОтветитьThe crime of car odometer roll back has been going on a long time. I was born in 1951 and even during my childhood growing up odometer roll back was going on in the cars with completely mechanical odometers. Also back then there were people who would disconnect the speedometer cable for a period of time to extend the car warranty out to its time limit, so that the mileage limit would not come first.
ОтветитьNEVER trust a car dealer or flipper/ "agent". Theyre always hiding something.
ОтветитьRun a carfax before you buy not after 🤔
ОтветитьWhat kind of a fool buys a used Jaguar?😂
ОтветитьIt's an XJS. They were terrible when they had 42 miles on them. Let alone 142k miles on them. They were forever in the shop for service.
ОтветитьAlso check the floorboard or coffee near the gas pedal that way also tell you something too and yes it is a federal crime through the speedometer back
ОтветитьOmg a CarFax report? Who ever gets that?…lol
ОтветитьShould watch 1980 film : used cars with Kurt Russell
ОтветитьAnybody who spends thousands of dollars on a used car without spending 30 bucks for a Carfax is an idiot. I can only feel so sorry for people who don't do their due diligence when making a financial investment.
ОтветитьYeah CarMax sold my girlfriend a car that clearly has near 200,000 mi on it even found out that the timing chain and gears were changed in it which is a great sign and it only has 60 on the odometer
ОтветитьSo there is in fact no way to truly know if a cars odometer has been changed unless the car had been serviced at repair shops and dealerships that report to these vehicle history companies like CarFax. Car makers need to address this issue one way or another
ОтветитьHow to spot—nah ! You didn’t actually provide any info!
Ответитьjags are shit boxes...
ОтветитьThey need to make it illegal to tamper with the odometer with hefty fines if caught.
ОтветитьGuy got robbed buying the car, and then again at the mechanic.
ОтветитьThanks for the tips 👍
Ответитьit should be about a 20 year prison sentence for this crime
ОтветитьAccording to my scan tool the last three vehicles I own have had miles rolled back average of 70000 miles!
ОтветитьI find it interesting that everyone tells you about a freaking $40 report to discover odometer fraud, but no help directing you on where to report it. Very helpful. Not.
ОтветитьCARFAX TELLS YOU VERY LITTLE. IT CAN ONLY TELL YOU WHAT IS PUT IN.
WHEN A WORKER DOESN'T PHYSICALLY LOOK AT THE ODOMETER
DURING TITLE EXCHANGE OR THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN ALTERED, GOOD FOR NOTHING.
A LICENSED, CERT. MECHANIC CAN REFERENCE THE MODULE TO MATCH THE ODOMETER.
65.00
CARFAX CAN'T TELL YOU IF A CAR WAS TOTALED, UNLESS THE REPORTS HAVE BEEN MADE.
Dude didnt check the carfax when buying a used car plus it’s an old jag that thing would be a pile regardless of what miles it had
ОтветитьI mainly want to learn how to turn back the odometer on the older chevys bc i plan on putting a fresh engine and transmission in on a 1
80 squarebody restro project and want accurate mileage
It's not about a mile it's about the jaguar
ОтветитьIs there any place to go for odometer rollback check in South Africa?
ОтветитьWow wish I knew this sooner
ОтветитьI do not feel bad for the guy with the jaguar lol that’s a horrible car to begin with and he threw 17k at smh 🤦♂️
ОтветитьYaah but sometimes carfax is also not accurate its like they purposely make car km or miles higher so dealers can make money carfax is pre trippy plus carfax should be free why are they charging obviously its only for business. Also dealerships also use that machine on there used cars
ОтветитьI wonder how those 2 guys were found out doing rollbacks. It would be good to know.
ОтветитьI was a victim on a Subaru
ОтветитьStop over paying and pay what you see on kellyblue books
ОтветитьSo instead of solving the issue and telling people what to do.. you just make the problem worse.. thaaanks news
ОтветитьAn asholleee sold me one..I cant believe it
ОтветитьTitle of video: " How to Spot Odometer Rollback Fraud on Your Used Vehicle "
Actual content describing how to tell: "Check if the steering wheel is loose, or the pedals are worn" for 2 seconds at the very end.
Only an idiot would’ve gone for that deal. $5,000 for a 91 vehicle!! No fucking way. And a jag at that 😅
