The COMPLETE Guide To The Knight | Dead by Daylight

The Knight is getting some massive buffs soon that really synergize with the play-style I encourage in the Guide. Knight is about to become the number 1 most hated killer in the game.

Patch Notes: The Knight (With Choy Notes)

Now that the Forged In Fog Chapter has been released for several weeks, we have updated several aspects of The Knight’s Base Kit:

While using his Power, The Knight is now forced out of Guard Summon Mode after 10 seconds. (Anti facecamp I guess?)

While tracing a Patrol Path, The Knight’s Orb shrinks with distance traveled and disappears completely after 10m. ("Call to Arms" Massive Buff!)

When The Knight creates a Patrol Path longer than 10m, he will gain the Haste Status Effect. The Effect’s duration depends on the length of the Path, beginning at 2 seconds and increasing to 6 seconds at the maximum distance of 32m. ("Call to Arms" Massive Buff!)

When a Guard detects a Survivor: If your Patrol Path is over 10m, the time it takes that Guard to reach the Survivor has been decreased. This reduction depends on the length of your Path, ranging from the default 10% to a maximum of 25% if your Path reaches 32m. Basically, the longer your Patrol Path, the faster your Guard will move once he detects a Survivor.
Using a guard to damage a Generator now grants an instant 5% loss of progress (previously 2.5%). ("Call to Arms" Massive Buff!)


Add-On Updates:
Healing Poultice: When Survivors are within 24m of The Assassin when he spawns, their locations will be revealed for 5 seconds (up from 3).

Im sorry call me picky, but why in the actual fuck is there undetectable if your louder than stomping elephant it makes that status effect entirely redundant considering the only stealth is just no heartbeat and red glow so how tf is this "undetectable"?

Okay question but both my hilt and chainmail add on say hemorrhage is that how they are now or is it bugged cause i cant see 2 green add ons doing the same exact thing or is this a change in the game since this video? Im fairly new so wondering just got the knight the other night

What does he mean by “vanilla perks”? And how do you get the perks from the first build? I leveled up knight to level 40 but I only seem to find fearmonger

Knight is one of the strongest killers in the game if you master him when no doubt about it

One thing I never understood is how guards work with pallets. Why they go through already droped pallets but if you drop it right infront of them, they will try to find a way around it? And does it like... go away at some point? I mean do they always try to loop such pallets or after some time they remember taht they can go through it?
I suspect some nuanses in their path calculation, but I'm not sure...

Does nowhere to hide work when you break a gen with one of knights buddies? Brand new to the game and love knight

This killer is good because of his ability to summon the assassin one way i use it is to keep survivors from looping in a circle the whole time it makes them stop looping.

First, I want to learn how to play the killer and his powers/abilities. Next, I want to see how to augment those abilities with add ons/perks. Cart b4 the horse.

Since when the Knight came out, I’ve found him very intriguing. Now I’m actually playing him and I’m considering to make him one of my mains.
I was already using the map and the blade because I love the Assasin, but I suppose that I could try something else with these advices.
At the moment, I am playing him with: STBFL, BBQ, Lethal and Jolt.

The add on that exposes is only useful if you know which guard is your fourth hence why doubling up on certain guards like cornifex and assassin is best for it but jailor will always be your exposure guard if you do this

Its a shame how you dont explain how to get the meta builds....

Map of the realm is not in his base kit just for a sake of occupying one addon slot. So you can't use Call to Arms and Horsemeat (or some other addons) together

As someone who owns every killer on at least Prestige 1, perks aren't a problem, but I still like the idea to design a perk build for newer/more casual players with the vanilla perks. Thanks a lot for the tutorial btw. It helped me a lot to understand the guards more. I'm used to spirit and nurse so I really had to think differently to master his ability and you helped a lot. What can I do if I don't have scourge hooks as a perk for your favorite build recommendation?

From what I’ve gathered playing Knight, the best card most teams try is to hide and be super gen heavy. Knight doesn’t really need perks for a chase so my perk build is usually a lot of detection that mix some slow down in as well, Hex: Face the Darkness can provide some good information and also has the benefit of a slow down if you’re busy with a chase as survivors tend to break off what they’re doing when they start screaming, Nurse’s Calling for just general countering of heal attempts and allowing you to just snipe a pair of healing survivors with a guard and head over quickly, Nowhere to Hide for easy information when you kick a gem and then Call of Brine as a compliment since it also applies a bunch of bonus regression and surveillance on that gen if anyone goes back on it.
