Email them. Say that if they do not give the designer a royalty or even just credit, they will be banned from wars.
I mean, as long as this thing is affordable, when the company starts acting decent I'm going to buy one, if it really is injection molded.
I guess idk enough about this to really dip my feet in but yes it is wrong to steal other people's ideas and sell their products,I'm just confused cause what I'm seeing is outrage about it on reddit and again if someone else can help me understand a little bit better that would be great anyway love your vids justin stay safe
ОтветитьThis sounds a lot like how the music industry beat Napster by telling people to shame their friends for using Napster
Ответитьyup, this a direct copy with no modification, not cool at all.
ОтветитьA very well done video. Thank you for spreading awareness.
ОтветитьI'm currently in the middle of building my own Bulwark that I bought from rabbit partly because I understand how difficult it is to come up with something like that but also because I want to support the individuals that push this community to the next level and I'm still new to Nerf as of corona happening here in the U.S. I for one will not be buying one unless it's the STL in order to print and build myself from the original creators.
ОтветитьIt's probably pretty obvious to most but if this happened to an FDL I would raise absolute hell. I firmly believe in the notion that there is no positive without negative and to grow as a hobby or as a person, that negative needs to be embraced and listened to. The Nerf hobby has this way of casting aside negativity and calling out those who bring it forth saying they are killing the vibe of a good thing or distracting from what's important. That cannot be more wrong. Look closely at the writing on the wall for it is a map to the future that can be changed with a strong voice and a little tenacity. This is not the first misuse of the Woozy and will not be the last because it's a dope blaster with a ton of performance AND aesthetic appeal. I'm with you guys making a stand and having the foresight of what this looks like years down the line. It's important.
ОтветитьAew you banning the user or the product? If I bring a second blaster and this am I still allowed to play?
ОтветитьI'm torn. I'd love a transparent injection molded woozi, but I get why it's scummy. Maybe I'll PayPal woody some amount and then buy one.
(TOU MING WANG)Means Transparent King,USE THE TRANSLATOR!!!
ОтветитьIt's straight-up ripping off a creator who's not had his product out for long to get a bit of money back for their efforts and having his cred pulled out from under them. They think because they are in the middle of China somewhere, no one will notice. Thinking its still the 1980s and communities within a hobby don't notice anything or communicate with each other. Do your fellow Nerfers a favour, if they create something, buy it from them. If you see it cloned elsewhere encourage others not to buy it.
ОтветитьSorry but you can not Ban a product on YOUR moral belief!!! You are trying to control someone else with your since of prejudiced judgment. I no I seen this before......... oh yea, NAZI's
ОтветитьTotaly agree with this, I won't buy one ( even if I like the idea of injection molded stuff) BUT to play devil's advocate and extrapolate the worst scenario. How do we implement this? Take this scenario - bloke turns up at a game with one, step one, organiser and others politely tell the bloke that it has been banned at their games and explain why, bloke continues to load up mags and starts to play with it. Step two - do we all stop playing and walk off untill they agree to not use it? I know peer pressure and fear of ostracization has stopped others from using 'too hot' an fps blaster in the past in a game but would that stop someone who paid quite a bit for a clear knock off blaster?
ОтветитьAnother concept to consider is perception of honesty. I saw a few studies that showed the average person was more likely return money if they were " over changed" to a small mom and pop store but less likely to a huge 'High St' store. Hence the creator of the Woozie is a small mom and pop store and Hasbro is huge.
ОтветитьI think the distinction that needs to be made is that in essence the embargo on the product isn't really because any of us are really that invested in intellectual property but rather the moral aspects of it. The concept of intellectual property itself has its origins in encouraging new innovation by providing certain protections to creators but these days it's more about companies protecting their own interests. Hasbro for comparison has their latest "innovation" - the ultra darts. Essentially a poorly veiled attempt at protecting their interests by creating a dart format that would be difficult for competitors to make. There are certainly claims that it's a higher performing dart, but I think there are plenty of videos that show this isn't the point.
It's also worth keeping in mind that it's the creators in our hobby that have spurred on innovation, and innovation itself is arguably as a result of collaboration. Let's take flywheel blasters for example. Turn the clock back around 4-5 years ago and they were looking like a bit of a dead end. You could get motors that spin faster, but without a commensurate increase in performance. Unless I'm mistaken, higher crush setups (outside of e-taping wheels) didn't really take off until the releases by the Open Flywheel Project. People had made higher crush cages before then, but they weren't widely distributed. When a creator shares their work, there's the immediate benefit to the community; but there are also further downstream impacts when people get inspired and add their own ideas.
Hear hear, an all round boycot of copy cat blasters will send the right messege that the community will not tolerate it.
ОтветитьHe not mention Malaysia or Singapore so this uzi goes there 😁
ОтветитьVery good video, thank you, thank you so much for bringing forth awareness to this problem and how bad it's getting for creator and designers of New Modded Nerf Blasters.
Ответитьits getting dark
ОтветитьN-Stike
ОтветитьWoody is a great bloke, and it does not deserve his design being ripped off. Now if they offered a Woody a kick back on every unit sold I would call that fair. The fact that China has no regard for Copywrite Laws, and the Creative Commons Laws is just dispicable.
I TOTALLY AGREE with the ban!!!!
Cheers for posting this video up!
its an eazy fix, you just tell the community to report retailers that sell it on their storefront and make the guy who owns the patent to threaten with legal action.
that way it super limits the sellers to just the Chinese market
China: WTF is copyright?
ОтветитьFor the record. We never 'kicked up a stink' regarding our MkII scar barrel. We made absolutely no public statement at all. Behind the scenes we actually sat down with Worker and spoke to them. We are all for competition, more options for people, competitive prices, advancement for our hobby. In some cases these products might be similar, but as long as someone puts their innovations and ideas in to something then its ok. Its the 'blatant copying' that is not right. Cheers Dean. =)
ОтветитьThanks for the PSA. The other aspect to this is not only does it hurt the creator, but hurts the community as a whole. I've since heard of 2 - 3 people doing their own transparent Woozi builds, and now each of them will be looked at suspiciously, with the presumption that they have supported this copycat by buying a set.. They now have to justify themselves and prove their position and the origin of their shell.. Recent Bulwark / N90 / LaSon issues can be used as another example - yes, the critical dimensions and design from Bulwark were copied into the N90 to make it work. And LaSon then came out with his own version, using a different mechanism.. But was instantly met with incorrect suspicion and accusations that he also copied the Bulwark.. We need to be on top of this as a community.. Copying outside license should be shunned, so that the creators of a design have their just reward, modders can mod without being impeded, and designers can innovate without having to dispel suspicion..
ОтветитьVery nice
ОтветитьI know quite a few people who put their stuff behind paywalls as a result of grifters trawling the verse for a quick buck.
ОтветитьI hadn't heard of that controversy and I didn't knew what to think at the start of the video, now the torch and the fork I just bought are sitting right at my left. I'm ready bois
ОтветитьGood decision. Making rules to protect, and show solidarity for, creators in the community is always going to be a good reason for making rules.
ОтветитьWhere do you nerf
Ответитьgosh if only I had a leader to vote for
who is as serious as I am about fighting
Chinese counterfeit and theft
It is ok. As a maker I fully support the community supporting its own and the integrity of IP's out in the community. If enough designers are hurt the modding space suffers from lack of 3d designers and innovations.
Lets Support our Community and cheers.
Thank you.
ОтветитьPlease make a regulator mod guide
Ответитьpeople want molded, 3d print should just be a prototype material imo.
ОтветитьHi. If you could put vintage blasters in the modern day, what changes would you make to them, and what series would you put them in? (ie, elite, doomlands, mega, zombie strike, rebelle, alphastrike, ultra, rival) the list for this challenge includes: crossbow, lock n load, bow n arrow, big bad bow, blazin bow(i consider this vintage), secret shot 1 and 2, at1k, at2k, at3k, at4k, sneakshot, ratchetblast, electric eel, rapid fire 20, sawtooth, ripsaw, reactor, arrowstorm, chainblazer, expand a blast, hornet, scout, og titan, mad hornet, warthog, defender t3, tech target, supermaxx line, and fastblast
ОтветитьWhy don’t u post more
ОтветитьIt should be called an Ewwsie.
Ответитьyes,it's immoral to sell other's design but the thing shocked me is that a factory is selling your wozzie 180 CNY(30 bucks)amazingly low.
ОтветитьIt's just a damn shame. I would have loved a clear injection molded woozi, but I would never buy the eewsie
ОтветитьIs this the thing that showed up on Amazon as the "uzi smg"? I'm not really into flywheel blasters but it looks like it's ripping off the Woozi as well as the Phoenix. Plus it's not even that much cheaper than a Woozi. Probably with a lot less power and none of the cross compatibility.
ОтветитьSelling blasters without the owners consent is flat out DISRESPECTFUL
Woozi = buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy
Knock off woozi = delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete
Japan just don't care
ОтветитьIt isn't even that much cheaper.
ОтветитьNope, you don't get to cherry pic what is okay (Worker copying Nerf blasters) or STL's being used without permission to make a copy but in molded form. Your "reasoning" for Worker getting a pass is complete bullshit and it's understandable from someone that makes money doing the "nerf" thing. I have a Woozi (200fps with quad Merlins) and now I also own this clone. Why? 1-I can. 2-To enjoy dopes going into rants about this clone.
ОтветитьIt's not like the Eeewsie is going to outperform the Woozi anyway, since it has better mag compatability (talon straight and curved mags), better performance from rate of fire to trigger stages (which include variable fire rate in the future if not already existing), and overall originality of the design.
Props to Woody for making something I could practically dual wield, instead of the injection molded, poorly made, Chinese copy crap.
Get the Woozi, it's worth every penny.
If it is cheaper and functions properly I would buy it. Up your game on creation, quality, and customer support and you will beat out chinese copies. If a man makes a chair, and another man makes a chair, do you sue the other man for making a chair that works the same as the other chair? Lol
ОтветитьSad to see that this is still happening, now to the lynx and others on Chinese websites
ОтветитьSorry I didn't break the lull with a fun or exciting video, but this has to be said now.
I will update the description when there are new legit resellers of the Woozie available. And if this seller takes it down.
The piracy of another doesn't excuse one's own behavior; their decisions does not dictate your own choice.
We not helpless, we can take action within our domain of control to decide how we treat each other.
Do you want your favorite Designer to see unlicensed pirates of their work at your events? Either in person or online?
We can choose now what we want our community's culture to be and set the social standard for future members and Designers.
This dis-incentivizes reseller from stocking them.
It dis-incentivizes manufacturers from making them.
It encourages them to go through official routes to gain unhindered access to our community with the advertising of the Designer's endorsement and good word of mouth.
They can make a profit, the Designer gets paid, we continue to get more kickass blasters.
Send the strongest market signal we can to get the result we want.
And you know, if Worker gets it why can't others?
