Penguin Walk at Asahiyama Zoo Asahikawa Japan 2023

One of the best things to do in Asahikawa is to visit the zoo and walk with the penguins. It's a cool thing to do and attracts big crowds. The penguins do a two circuit walk so you can follow along or just skip ahead to the next area to get the best position to capture the walk. Because it was winter time for us some of the displays were not accessible due to the heavy snow falls.

The zoo is reasonably priced and easy to get. The local bus runs from the JR Asahikawa Station directly to the front door of the zoo.

The zoo has a cafeteria attached to the outside and this is well placed for you to get in and out of the zoo.
