ОтветитьUnfortunately this confirmed my suspicions. I work as a Seasonal Ranger at a state park in Tennessee. At the end of one of my guided hikes, I found a dead Eastern Box Turtle, shell intact and all. Heard rattling in the shell, which I assumed was just the bones. Went back to pick it up because we could use the shell for interpretation and programming. Some oval shaped objects fell out, and I didn’t know what they were. After watching this video, I now know that that turtle had eggs when she died. Very unfortunate and sad, but that’s the way of nature.
ОтветитьI'm trying to let mine hatch naturally but am concerned that they wont hatch can they hatch in cedar chips outside all her eggs last year didnt hatch the ground was way to hard am also working on making a nesting box for them this year
ОтветитьA turtle laid eggs today in our field
ОтветитьYou wouldn't happen to know how long I should wait before helping the baby turtle out of the egg would you? My turtle lay three eggs two of them already came out the third one only has partial showing.
ОтветитьHow long does it take once that’s cracked the egg open??
ОтветитьPeople are just smashing turtles I think on purpose on the black top road if I seen someone doing it on purpose I would put them where they put the turtle it's like I'm watching them being brought to extinction so many ars being run over
ОтветитьI have followed you and You have done a great job sharing your turtles and their antics and your successes and tragedies ...Viewers may not appreciate how much time, effort, money, and emotion is invested in your turtles...God bless..You have cute babies and have cute videos of them..
ОтветитьMy daughter and I found a turtle while out on a walk, watching these videos really helped us to take care of it until we found the owner a week later, we learned a lot, and really enjoyed our time with our new little friend ❤
ОтветитьMine will be hatching naturally so prayers they will hatch it's very late in the season and the momma was injured before we got her so pray they hatch cus she only had one and it was in the water but didn't want to leave it so hopefully it will live I need an answer is to what to keep it in naturally please someone answer
ОтветитьSo would it be best to use moss and keep it really wet
Ответитьmy malasian box turtle egg will be hatching probs next month or the next.
ОтветитьI watched some peck their way out, it was a glorious moment. Took about 10 days for the shell to come off. Never take the shell off! It feeds the baby! They r so adorable. I put my adults in my greenhouse over winter and I hope they lay their eggs in there so the babies will be safe. 🙏❤️
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video. I have 2 hatchlings I found in my yard. I have them in water which I keep under heat lamps. They are eating well. Could you do a video more in depth of the enclosure you use for this young turtle
ОтветитьAt what temperature did you keep it at while they were hatching or half way out, mine are coming out now and I read somewhere having it at 85 degrees may be too much but that can be wrong. Little hep please
ОтветитьLike birds I believe turtles eat by the color. You can start them off with little bits of chopped Apple, of which they love, and it's easy for them to bite hold, and swallow. BTW. I was pulling weeds today and found a little box turtle that seem to be about a year old. I gave him some chopped apples! That's when I looked up newborn box turtles,, which brought me here. 👍))
ОтветитьThank you for your informative videos. I just watched a native red slider laying eggs in my backyard. I sprinkled ground red pepper over the nest to try to protect the eggs from skunks and raccoons. This late in the year, mid-August, I wonder if the young will emerge, or wait until next Spring? Salutes!
ОтветитьJust found eggs in my enclosure. Came straight to this video. Thanks for the info bro. BTW I guess my Thomas is really a Tammy...😁
ОтветитьLoved this video. 🐢
ОтветитьHow can I include live meal worms into my baby box turtles diet?
She is devouring earthworms and I did try to introduce the meal worms today but it's as if she doesn't know she's supposed to eat them.
Please don’t relocate Box turtles. They have a homing instinct and they will try to get back to the area they came from. If you move it far from it's home you will cause it to likely get killed trying to get back to it's home, so leave it in the area found, do not bring it to a nicer area.
Ответитьwhere is the third one?
Ответитьlol its funny to hear him say he's excited but you can't tell by his robot voice lol.
ОтветитьYou are soooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьI had an all time high this year. 31 hatchlings. I don't incubate. Let mother nature do it
ОтветитьWhat kind of dirt do you have them in?
ОтветитьLast year my turtles breeded and had 3 babies, she had 8 more this year without breeding, they were born yesterday
ОтветитьThat egg on the left looks like it has the puppet from the movie "SAW" on it
ОтветитьWhat about the other eggs? How long after did they hatch?
Ответитьdo you sale them
ОтветитьHey did your have the red pink thing attach to it tummy after hatching
ОтветитьI found a box turtle on the road and gave it to my stepson. Well today we found 3 eggs. Should I leave them or remove them from the habitat?
ОтветитьDo you breed ornate wood turtles? If so how do you breed them?
ОтветитьI've watched several of your videos tonight. They all have the super-light volume on them until you come closer to the mic. I think you should amp up the sound or wear a blue tooth mic. I have to strain to hear with all the volume markers at 100%. ;) Excellent knowledge points though. I'm considering getting a turtle -- my first one. I love seeing the variety of them. The soft shells are way cool. I don't think I've ever come across a soft-shelled.
What would you recommend for getting as my first small turtle? We're in an apartment now but plan to be in a house within a year. :)
Where can I get a hatchling?
ОтветитьLove this! My son and I are so excited to learn more.
ОтветитьAwesome!🤘
ОтветитьI let nature take its course in my outdoor pen. The eggs hatch and the babies emerge nice and healthy. I bring them in for their safety because I have adult males in the pen. I just wish I had more females. I’m hoping that at least 2 of my 4 babies are female, but; I won’t know for years to come.
ОтветитьHow long goes it take for the mom to lay the eggs please tell me I have some on the way
ОтветитьSo I keep turtles outside in an enclosure and I randomly found two hatchlings today while cleaning out some leaves, I’m not exactly sure how old they are or exactly what to do
Ответитьgreat video!
ОтветитьI'd love to get a cb Eastern box hatchling
ОтветитьI've done this before personally, but watching this (over 20 years after my own experience) it just makes me praise God for how awesome He is.
ОтветитьThanks for this video, we found a gulf coast box turtle infront of our door that we took in- he had some parasites and we're rasing him and he hasnt gotten rid of his yolk sack yet. This was a god send! I've only got experience with geckos ahaha
ОтветитьI found a baby box turtle and he looks smaller than yours and he's not eating. So it could take awhile for them to eat?
ОтветитьBruh it’s illegal to ship Baby Box Turtles or any baby turtles they have to be 5-6 inch I think But. A Geat Video
ОтветитьAww, they are so adorable! It makes me so happy. They're about how big the baby box turtle was that I saved out of the road. She had been attacked by a groundhog and lost half of one of her front legs and a big chunk of her plastron was missing and the side of her shell was chipped. She's doing great now though! She fully recovered and is now very healthy.
ОтветитьSo I have box turtles naturally in our area. We used to have an outdoor pen for one we rescued until it's shell healed back when I was little. And now we spotted a momma box turtle laying eggs but in a high traffic area of the yard that also tends to hold standing water when it rains 😨 its been about 24 hours since they were laid and I'm really debating on just making a bin for them
ОтветитьOne of the coolest videos I’ve seen. I live in Ohio too. Wish I could be lucky enough to witness a hatching live.
