For plinking trying hit the target with every shot still useless, the only use of it would be for the guys that can go fullauto in this case the cheap ammo is the best, accuracy doesn’t matter, will spray anyways all over the place

How many rounds did you shoot from Eley before counting the groups? Eley uses a completely different type of lubricant. Mixing those with SK/Lapua without cleaning etc. could contribute to any issues you had with Eley or others.

The only problem with this test is that every firearm will shoot differently with any given ammo on any given day.

Cci copper plated round nose is great for semi auto. Cci high velocity is pretty accurate. I like federal black bulk ammo.

I’ve had more duds where the bullet falls in the dirt by 15 yards with the federal automatch than any other 22lr. Might’ve been that batch but I’ll never buy it again

That's crazy thunderbolt did so poorly for you. I have a remington 341 sportsmaster that I can drive nails with thunderbolt. Sub MOA groups at 100. Maby my rifle just really likes it

that big blob target is an ISSF standard for use with ring sights. peep than ring at the end of the barrel then round dot as target. line everything up. for those who do not know ISSF is "olympic" style competition.

Do you mention the range/distance at any point?

after years shooting I experimented with own targets and came to conclusion - best target for me is diamond shape black with 1 1/4 side and white inch circle 1/2 inch in the middle. I use it till 200 m and pretty satisfied with it

You should try some of the high speed ammo and see how it does at 100 yards, for example Norma Ecospeed 22. It has much much better terminal performance (in the field) vs a subsonic lead bullet.

CCI Green Tag seems to agree with most of my accurate rifles. Aguila Match Rifle also shoots well for it's reasonable price.

Not trying to be stupid here but how many yards are you shooting? Fifty yards hundred yards?

The best groups I ever shot were with the CCI AR Tactical. It is basically an extra powerful plated CCI Standard Velocity. It is the same projectile, just plated.
Your match rifles probably don't like plated ammo.
I have some of the Norma Tac 22 that I didn't like at first, but I am starting to like it. Not bad.

I have found center x #1 and midas+ #2 to shoot the best out of the rifles i have used. My old 1969 brno mod 2 surprised me with its potential with center x.

Interesting share and that lot of American Eagle you got was abnormal I'm guessing from my own experience with that stuff. I was surprised you did not choose to share CCI SV which I would have liked to have seen in the mix considering it the best lower cost available for us based on my experience thus far.

Savage VSS target barrel. Best was eley match, eley club was second. I think its the chamber cut. Tenex and center x not as good. Im glad because cheaper. Lol

100 yds stretching it should do 50 yds get a 223 or something in that caliber range for small game or if just playing with targets guess ok

After several years out of the shooting range, I purchased a 500 round box of Remington Thunderbolt. I can not get a lot of alternatives of bulk ammo in my country and ammo prices are double than in the USA. After the purchasde, I watched your video and started to be concerned about your comments. After my first 100 rounds I have nothing to say. No problems at all. Only one round had less powder than the rest as I have noticed in the sound. I was able to land 99 of the bullets inside a 7 Inch circle at 15 meter distance. I own a Beretta Neos and as you know, it is not the best accurate gun in the market. Since I am not a precision shooter, and based on this experience if nothing stange happens with the rest of the ammo, I will continue buying this product in Bulk as it is the less expensive I can get in the 40 grain range. Also, I will try to get the Federal in bulk but I know that it is much more expensive where I live.

I want to thank you for your research. My quest is for "the most accurate" high velocity 22 LR ammo. I'm trying to establish the flatist shooting 22LR at > 100 yards. 457/T1X/LA101 chambers. Just can't justify the VooDoo. I know, I know just get an HMR; got one but I like the LR better. You might want to try Sellier &Bellot Club; the consistancy of construction and graphite bullet lube will impress you.

I love Remington Thunderbolt. It's cheap and it cycles all my semi automatics flawlessly, something no other brand has done no matter how expensive. Great plinking ammo!

Yeah, the Federal auto match shoots really good for bulk ammo.

Seems to line up (more or less) with other 22 precision shooters. I wish I could find the good stuff here in Los Angeles.

I have a CZ457 Varmint 16.5 inch and the AT One stock and with Wolf ammo from SK Lapua in Germany, I have gotten 3/4 inch at 100 yards. Not sure what it will be like since it is now made by Eley but something to note is that what I hear constantly about the 457 is that they love the SK Match ammo(red box) shooting insane groups at 100 yards.

CCI CV is my standard to go with, it’s incredible accurate in my RAR LRT, but maybe I’m lucky.

Good summary. I test upwards of 30 loads in my target guns and those same top 3 are super solid.

CCi Standard usually punches well above its price point, as do many of the SK and RWS offerings.

Federal bulk shoot best out of all the HV hollow points I have used in my sportco, while others still shot ok.

Ha, I use SK Magazine (Standard) for warming the barrel and rabbits, and use the Centre-X for actual target shooting.

I was excited when I saw the title but disappointed when I watched as there was no supporting data to prove that you really shot 1000 rounds spread across multiple lots - we just have to take your word.

If you watch the Hornady podcasts on dispersion you can hear how large sample sizes can give you tons of great data, but none is presented in your video.

I’m hoping that is just an anomaly of this video and that you have supporting data you can share in a future video.

Knowing the max spread, per rifle, per ammo at each distance tested for all the ammunition tested would really tell the full story. It also normalizes any issues that might be shooter or equipment related.
