iOS 17 - Every New Apple CarPlay Feature

This is great. Can I ask a question as you seem to have so much knowledge on this.

I’m listening to a podcast and say I’m halt way through and I want to return to the beginning I would have to click on that back so many seconds icon until I’m at the start again. That’s a long time of pressing to do this.

I seem to remember months ago getting back the start of a podcast by simply pressing the back arrow on the actual car radio system which would be for the inbuilt CD player. It’s a BMW F35 on a 62 plate. Just odd that I could press a button for immediate restart and then now it won’t happen. Thanks

Wired CarPlay seems to disconnect.

Buggy! About every other time I get into my vehicle, Car Play does not connect with my iPhone. Then when I’m not expecting it, I’ll get in, start the vehicle and magically, it connects.

Which Weather app have you tried on Car Play?

I'm really annoyed Apple requires Siri to be enabled to use Carplay. I don't use it at all, so it's kinda annoying to turn it on and off all the time.

I use a CarPlay system that is not native to my car so this may not be a general issue. The problem is that when trying to use voice in Google maps the CarPlay system crashes immediately and needs a full power off / on to recover. Manual Search works as usual. Is this an issue with CarPlay in General or just my non-standard system?

What i still don’t like is how you can press directly on the map which charger or which location you’ve searched. You have to choose it in the left-hand side list. As if I know the name of all the addresses in the world and which corresponds to which. Especially when you’re driving you need this to be easier.

Unfortunately, no one is mentioning the fact that you need a subscription to Apple Music for SharePlay to work. That’s total BS!

The next Carplay update will be the first step in Apple being leveraged to control features in your car.

Do you know it is possible to pinch to zoom in google maps and in waze? I was thinking to switch to iphone but if this is not working then I will probably just keep what I have until they will move to 21 century

Lol, we have had share play for a long time: my wife has an iPod 3 loaded with thousands of songs connected to our car’s 3.5 plug. It works even we are out of cell tower range. Works great, and is a lot less complex!

I just want a speedometer to be added.

Running iOS 17 RC Public Beta on my iPhone 14 Pro. As far as new issues: So far there is a new glitch on the standby screeen. When I wake my phone the notifications just have a black background.

I will be happy just if them solve the issue that drains the battery when using Apple Carplay on iPhone 13 (no matter if wireless or wired connected).

I got to use Apple CarPlay for the first time. This past weekend I got to use a rental car 2023 Jeep grand Cherokee with Apple CarPlay. I’ve never wanted a newer car in my life. Such a cool feature!

Will not connect wirelessly. Only if the vehicle supports wireless connectivity. Know what you are talking about.

Great, you can find Tesla charger now in CarPlay….even tho CarPlay isn’t in teslas…super useful
