Anyone else watching this in mono?
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial. Additional bonus points for using Reaper to demonstrate ;)
ОтветитьThis video hurts my back...
ОтветитьDamn son!!! Sick! Freaking sick.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьIt's ridiculous how often I come back to this video. So many great tips in 15 minutes it's kind of insane...
ОтветитьHas anyone reading this comment compared Fab Filter's L2 to Logic Pro's Adaptive Limiter?
ОтветитьI'm in shock about what I just learned. I just had to sit down in silence for 20 minutes and conceptualize the info Dan just casually presented. So grateful for your work Dan. It's so relieving to learn and understand the how and why of it all. THANK YOU
Ответитьsuper great tutorial, but what were u thinking with that awful music
ОтветитьI reference mono every time
ОтветитьIt's 2023. This material is sound and is the basis for all audio recording.
The concepts here is also why Dolby Atmos is bullshit. Don't fall for it.
LEARN HOW TO MIX IN MONO. You must learn this basic technique to future proof your recording.
great
ОтветитьI like to not have any stereo effects or panning on drum tracks, then switch the phase on each stereo channel, so they cancel when mixed to mono
ОтветитьGreat video!
I love topics like that!
This is a noob mistake that I've been guilty of previously.
I used to pan things as much as possible and make songs sound great on headphones, but totally suck when playing them in mono!
Dan worrell is fast becoming the David Attenborough of attenuation
ОтветитьYup i am a normal person and i use MSED manually 😅 but i might divide my workflow between Ableton live (composing) and Reaper (mixing) and cleverly and efficiently (cpu) have the best of both worlds
ОтветитьAt the same time we are "competing" with guys that don't give a f@@k about mono compatibility and they win grammys for that. I think Serban Ghenea has about 13 grammys and he doesn't care about mono. He constantly has 3-4 songs on the bilboard top 20 and when I sum them to mono in my daw, everything disappears except for Kick, snare(sometimes), vocals(sometimes)and bass. The correlometer constantly shows values below 0, even well into -1(out of phase). Check out Troye Sivan's My! My! My! This is equally valid for all the songs he mixes. Dan does a great job in educating people on things that should matter, but the reality is that some get gigs and some watch videos about the guys that get gigs. Thumbs up for everything you do! @Dan Worrall
ОтветитьF**k? Say again? 😆
ОтветитьWait a minute, so it' normal to pan instruments hard left, with others sitting hard right?
ОтветитьThis series is genuinely incredible. The quality of the information, the maximization of your time without extraneous information or cutaways, the visuals, the VoiceOver. Well done, and thank you for putting this out!
Ответить🙏💎💛
ОтветитьThanks you so much this video changed why im not hearing extra stereo on my headphone
ОтветитьCould you do the same or similar series on Dolby Atmos? I want to learn how to add width, and depth, as well as other tips to makes my Dolby Atmos mixes sound amazing. Thank you in advance.
ОтветитьI love you Dan.
ОтветитьCmon, how many of us know what unity gain is? be honest who cares.
ОтветитьIve been learning about the stereo field for years, Im still confused about alot, but this is the foundation I needed to build my understanding upon, thank you for that
Ответить👏🤝🫵
ОтветитьThese videos are simply brilliant.
ОтветитьI wish these videos existed when I was working with the 1st version of FruityLoops and RT Tracker 😂
ОтветитьThis is stuff i've intuited and came across naturally when mixing/mastering, but I also learned so much more as well from this video. This is a pure knowledge drop. Respect
ОтветитьIs the iPhone XR mono speaker or stereo ?
ОтветитьThere’s a plugin called Neve DFC channel strip by UAD that has the best stereo imaging I've ever heard but when I turn my Apollo to listen in mono, I can't hear the signal at all, does that mean I shouldn't use the imager? It's a shame because it sounds so great
ОтветитьThank You so much Dan, also Fabfilter for putting this together, it's so amazing. This has really helped me beyond what I can explain.
Thank You once again.
All producers, engineers, etc must know these kind of stuff!
Ответитьwow so clear and helpful thanks
ОтветитьQuite sure I’ve never seen such an abundance of ( most deserved! ) love and genuine appreciation in a comment section! Wonderful (:
ОтветитьTrack I.D anyone? Sounds like a banger
Ответитьthis song is so funny to me. like dubstep bass wobble over royalty free happy guitar music
ОтветитьThis is amazing
ОтветитьHello Dan! Would you tell me please how much delay is common to set for the guitar's delayed channel example, at 13.40?
ОтветитьPleasure to watch!
Ответить15 years into the game, one takes the liberty to think that one has figured it out, and then comes Dan with such videos. Thank you for keeping me humble.
Ответитьonly losers use mono
ОтветитьSo basically, just record in mono and ur good?
ОтветитьBeautiful Demonstration, Thank you!!!!
Ответитьbro I'm still wondering how to mix in stereo and not have it suck in stereo
Ответитьsomeone should have showed this to the Beatles
ОтветитьI swear that ahoy is the same person making this videos. If you ever listen to the 16bit sounds ahoy videos and then hear this, they are the same.
