ОтветитьSince Brad failed to include the information as to what size jars 6 lbs of cabbage require it is (1/2 gal).. I would have never guessed by looking at the 2 heads of cabbage I purchased when processed would fit into a 1/2 gal jar but it does with room to spare in which I layered the outer leaves of the heads of cabbage over the top. I really didn't need a great amount of time and energy to reduce my sliced green cabbage into a desired size and ended up with a great deal of liquid before I transferred it into the jar.

Being a novice I went out and spent $25 for 2 1-GAL JARS on Amazon to find out after I started to PACK the JAR BRAD that I only needed a HALF GALLON JAR BRAD, how about a little less humor and a little more specifics. Oh yeah, I started with 6 lbs of cabbage as did you.

As for the garlic, I eat lots of it raw and rub it on a hard crust bread but I'm not sure it is needed with the sauerkraut
If you don't have a air lock on your jar just a sealed jar is that okay?
