I’m a mountain biker, do a lot of jumping on my bike and am considering buying one of these mini’s as my first GoPro, can I ask can I access footage and photos taken on it from my phone? I have an iPhone 12

I want to buy one for mountain biking, just videos, which one do I get?

The only downfall I see is a non removable battery and IF you try and replace you will damage the mini..... I fix it verified

I thought itd be a good helmet cam. Mostly so that cops wont use the excuse that the screen distracts people

Gr8 Video! I lost my gopro8 in a snorkel diving trip to the Isle of May (Scotland) earlier this summer, got caught in a current then smashed against the rocks of the island, causing the velcro pocket on my dry suit to open and my camera was lost to the sea bed. I also used it for motovlogging. Sadly it's getting harder to find a replacement as only the gopro8 will fit the mod and only gopro8 batteries will work with this model. I'm inspired by the new mini as I have a Session5 which still works gr8!! It's such a good wee camera for motovlogging and snorkel diving. This is why I'm tempted to get the mini, however not sure if I should wait till next year to see if a new mini comes with at least a mic input?

Mine didn’t last 30days… I loved the quality of footage, didn’t like the overheating. But could manage it. However, took it free diving. 6m max, flooded the camera, SD port broken, top screen broken. They claim waterproof to 10m I was only free diving. Free replacement though, I did ask if I could upgrade to the normal but they declined. I think the lack of battery change is the big design mistake.

well, someone to test mini recording under sunshine longer so much than 11, I think mini designed for 4K recording long time under sunshine environment.

built in battery is a massive deal and you blowing off like no problem lol how long does it last ?? ive seen 45 min in allot of reviews on a hot day probably worse and what ever that number is it will get lower way before the camera gets older. now what you going to do with it for the next 2 hour ride ?? its been badly designed i mean terrible

You mention it has no mount on the side, but can't you just mount it with the bottom mount to the side of a helmet and rotate the footage?

Other advantage for weight is you don’t need a full TPU mount for the mini so that’s a good weight savings.

i still have the original mini and love it. It's still going hard. Ocean, sand, snow and everything in-between

Great video, and I will upgrade my hero 8 Black to the 11 Mini! Subbed as well. All I do is record my boring and tough hikes through the desert, but it would be nice to have an extra hour of battery life.

This helped with my buying decision. I need all the features of the 11. The internal battery was deal breaker for my daily use. Thanks

There's no perfect camera. Its just a case of what shortcomings are an absolute deal killer based on your application. Very few reviews of the 11 mini talks about the convenience of using the Remote with the Mini to have more control on ie a motor bike/MTB handlebars. Any thoughts? For me on my dirt bike, my H7 & remote are inseparable. It takes the guesswork out of the status of the camera whilst having fun. I have mounted my camera on top, side and chin of my helmet. All have limitations. I want to now try a camera under the helmet peak which makes me keen on the 11 Mini.

Is the audio good for it, or what mic is good to record POV drive videos with?

Ive just received myGoPro 11 mini last night. Took me over an hour to connect this to my iphone via the quik app. It just won't connect despite having the latest quik app. Had trouble getting it to pairing mode. My GoPro kept turning itself off. Super annoying. Had a few times when my phone shows a "found your GoPro", then it cuts out. I tried resetting the factory setting on my GoPro, turning wifi/bluetooth on and off, reinstalling the quik app, formatting the sd card, Nothing works!!! Solution: I remove the sd card. Connect it to my laptop. Went to the GoPro site (software section) and chose to download the "update" file for windows (PC). Unzip the update file and dragged the update file (not the update zip file) to the sd card. Insert sd card into my GoPro and FINALLY, I was able to get my iphone to connect to my GoPro 11 mini. Hope this helps anyone w/ pairing issues.

They need to bring back an updated Session. Still have my 1st edition Session, the built in battery lasted over 7yrs before it's now to the point of no longer working.

The gopro is controled by 2 buttons, pain in the a** right ?
I as a ''genius'' i thought that i would simply edit all my settings (video modes) on the Quik App
and then scroll with the 2 buttons in betwens my settings on the camera.
Brilliant ? nope !
YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE VIDEO SETTINGS AT A TIME !

When i use my gopro i always switch in between my 4-5 favorite video modes :
Sunny - Sport - Underwater - Slowmo (2x 4x 8x) ...
And each video modes have differents settings (resolution - frame rate - stabilisation - shutter speed ...)

So now, to ''switch'' in between video modes, i have to clicks 15 times on the gopro, 15 TIMES
AND THATS NOT ALL
more precise settings like shutter speed and stabilisation (and many more) CAN ONLY BE CONTROLED ON THE APP !!!
Gopro are meant to often be use where you cant take you phone out.. especially with the smaller version....

Gopro failed on this one.
Yes it can be fixed in a software update, but for now, my vacation is in 4 days and i am pissed (probably like a lot of people were)

Other thing, the volta handle (with battery built-in) comes with a usb pass-through door for the gopro 11 standard only, not the mini (second time they pissed me off)

Hmm you should use screen protection for your Gopros, so even if they fall or you hit them there have protection and are less likely to get damaged

Great review. I've had my 11 Mini for a couple weeks now and couldn't be happier. I don't mind that there are no screens and, so far, I haven't had any issues connecting to the app. I'm really looking forward to putting it thru its full paces once the weather warms up a wee bit and I can mount it on my bike and see how Hypersmooth handles my area's bumpy roads and trails.

The main problem of my hero 6 is hanging, low battery life and over heating. How is the hero 11 / mini 11 perform?

yeah, no.. your not the only one having issues connecting this camera to the partner app. I discovered the issue was having a VPN connected...... this should not be an issue and it's enough to toss it without looking back.
