The problem with Sonic fans is that for every bit of criticism they take it very far and also make shitty pieces of artwork like if they were Leonardo da Vinci and kids treating them like a god. Not only that but also some hypocrisy. Before a game they praise it like if it was The Second Coming of Jesus Christ. But not even a minute after the game releases the whole fanbase begins to criticise the game and don’t answer when reminded of what their opinion on the game was before it was released. Not every Sonic fan is toxic tho. I’ve seen some nice people too.

Tbh the only reason I left the sonic fan base is when I discovered “Sonadow” 🤢. Literally made me vomit looking at it, same thing with other fan bases like Friday night Funkin and the dream smp. I’m just glad I’m part of a fan base that’s clean, that being Kingdom hearts! That being said, I don’t hate sonic, im just not part of the fandom

All fan bases are seek as toxic. For example as a train enthusiast I can't help but be a fan of Thomas and Friends because of how closely the characters resemble real British locomotives and even once in a while feature German, American, and other trains from other countries. But of course those on the outside think all of us are Autistic or man babies. Many Thomas fans are not autistic, including myself, and many of the autistic fans are actually quite down to Earth and approachable in real life. So pretty much all Fandoms have plenty of normal people in it.

You can deny the facts as much as you want. The sonic fan base is toxic and nothing you say or do will ever change that fact.

Yeah, a lot of fanbases are like Sonic's. Not every, but many. But it just so happens that anthropomorphic animal games and shows induce a stronger reaction than those with more humanoid characters. Dressing up like Samus or drawing Street Fighter porn are going to just be seen as more acceptable by most than the same actions with Sonic, Undertale, or Five Nights at Freddy's. Even if they boil down to the same actions and reactions.

Also, not really sure parodying the sort of person that would yell about Sonic is any better than doing that unironically. Personally, it's just as annoying, and it can be worse in some ways because then I know the person is very aware of what they're doing. Unlike if it had just been some passionate and awkward kid.

I know most of the time the people say that the Sonic community are toxic despite I don't spend much time with the Sonic community itself but, actually, the only time that I was witness of their toxicity and get a bad experience with their toxic behavior, it was in the Hedgehog Engine Discord server. I was looking for a partners for give me a hand for the modding into Sonic Frontiers since I have still somes issue into the modding when I create my own mods so I accept any kind of help, even from those who are new but know a bit more than me, for give me somes good tips and check an eye into my own mods. However nobody answer me because they was too much focus to talk about a sort of drama story about a user who get banned or something but I didn't pay too much attention about it since it's none of my business.

However, one week later, I notice nobody answer my question due to talk too much about their drama story so, when I have try to ask the same question again by wonder if this time they will notice my question, I meet somes kiddo from the admin/moderators who threatened to ban me if I spam the same question because they though I was a bot or a scam and I have nicely say without be vulgar and by stay calm that I'm into their server because I was searching for someone for give me a hand into the modding since somes people advices me the Hedgehog Engine server if I wanted somes help about the modding for those last Sonic games unless it's my fault and that I'm not in the good server for talk and ask about modding tips and help so, somes times later, I notice I get banned from Hedgehog Engine server. Maybe because I wasn't toxic for them unlike those dude who was throw insult and salty comment to someone for one week without they get banned until they change conversation so, even if I like somes Sonic games, I confirm the community can be toxic and it even contaminate the modding Sonic community as well so, since this accident who happend somes month ago, I can say I don't appreciate too much the Sonic community anymore. I know everyone isn't like that but it still sad though so I don't advice for anyone to go to the Hedgehog Engine server except if you are ready to really want to meet somes people with a big toxic behavior.

Sega's philosophy - or maybe the way the fans see Sega's philosophy - seems to be "We can only make products for one audience at a time; sometimes young/kid fans, sometimes old/adult fans.

The aforementioned saying, from my point of view, seems to be untrue, because franchises like The Muppets, or companies like Disney (Sonic was meant to be as timeless as Mickey Mouse, according to Sega/Sonic Team) somehow, some way, manage to churn out TONS of products that appeal to multiple audiences at once.

I honestly don't see how the whole "When you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one." is true in the slightest given the examples I've just given - if anything, they prove you CAN please everyone. If it's possible for Disney, Muppets, and many others, why not Sonic?
