Man, I would love to believe that Biden could be all the good things that were listed here, but I will remain very skeptical until given a reason not to be. I don't have much hope with Biden.

I think Marshall's argument about Biden as the transitional figure before the peaceful realignment is on point. Instead of being a Buchanan, he can stabilize the country over the next few years to the point that a realignment can occur with minimal disruption. He's not just a transitional president for the Democratic party, but a transitional president for the two new realignments of the mid-late 2020's.

Never expected to hear “Joe Biden” and “over performing” in the same sentence. Brilliant!

If this “economic boom” doesn’t touch working class people the establishment is finished politically. So it’s in Biden’s interest to ensure this “Build Back Better” money doesn’t go directly into government contractors pockets.

I don't believe that "Trump" was the primary driving cause for "the excesses of the left" that have been increasing in the identitarian sector over the last few years. It has been the media's portrayal of Trump more than he, himself.

The Hitlarian, fascist, racist, alt-huite, sexist dictator and agent of Russia, who doesn't exist. It's the media that riled everyone up, much moreso than Trump. They created a fantasy world and Hitler 2, to engage with.

This was great. Crazy times ahead.

Did Marshall really just try to defend the woke nonsense by saying its simply a reaction to Trump? Come on, you cant continue to blame Trump for everything he is out of office and now the woke nonsense seems to be ramping up even more. Other than that I really enjoyed the history and prospect for another realignment soon. I hope Biden can do a good job but right now I just don't see it happening, he has no backbone to stand up the extremes of his party and thus has no path for being a center left, unifying figure.
