I would add $1 to what Jefferson got and pay that to Chase. They need to get Chase and McPherson done before this season. I would throw Cal Adomitis in there too lock him down for at least 2 years.

Looking back we should have paid Bates right after the 2020 season. Right after he was 2nd team All Pro. He was Pro Bowl and All Pro again last year. We could have gotten Jessie for around 14.5 mil in 2020.

If you compare their rookie years well Chase obviously wins that with 1455 yards 13 tds to Jefferson’s 1400 yards 7 tds. Jefferson has 30 career tds. Chase has 29. And he played 1 year less than Jefferson.

Flawed rationale from the hosts. Bengals can sign T-Higgins to a long-term contract next year and tag Chase for the next 2 years. So, the Bengals can effectively keep Chase for the next 3 years without signing him to a long-term contract. There's no upside to signing Chase to a long-term deal at this point.
