I started to use rosemary oil deluted in some other oils and it has worked wonders on my head. My hair thinned a lot after a chronic illness and is now almost back to normal :D

These work well all the time to hairfall control.
1. Natural hair masks - ripe banana + gram flour + egg + avocadoes + castor oil mask for your hair.
2. Enhance your diet with beetroot boiled + chopped carrot + ginger + fresh apple = juice to nourish healthy hair.
3. Yoga poses - headstand yoga
4. organic oils , Natural shampoo, and nourishing conditioner - litttleextra cocooonion kit for hair fall
5. Manage stress - quick 10-minute meditation or pursue a new hobby .
6. Neem wood comb - wide tooth or dual tooth .

Hard water is an issue, especially living in a major city. What I have been doing to combat the noticeable damage are 2 things: 1) wash out shampoo with only distilled water; and 2) once a week use an apple cider vinegar/distilled water rinse. On a daily basis I massage my scalp for about 5 minutes with a hand-held scalp massager. Since I suffer from a bad case of psoriasis, inclusive of the scalp, my shampoo selections are limited to conventional treatments (i.e., zinc, coal tar, ketoconazole, etc.). I'm housebound/bedridden 18-22 hours a day with ME/CFS, so the back of my head is always on a pillow. That spot often feels tender and I'm worried about hair loss there.

The problem with minoxidil is people will have to keep taking it indefinitely, or any hair growth they achieve with it will stop. Also, there are studies that showed rosemary oil was just as effective.

And we have to use silicones in our products!! My Derm educated me that it’s great for coating and protecting the hair and preventing breakage. (And it’s not even bad for the skin in moderation!!!)

I have to wear a hat every day at work and I notice my hairline, back of head and my part-line are thinning because of it. I have very fine and straight strands but have a full amount of it. How can I protect my hair from hat breakage. Thanks if you do reply!!

I love Aveda Invati products. I use mostly the shampoo and conditioner, though I’ve tried the other products and like them. I didn’t take them when I spent 6 weeks traveling with only carry ons, I just used the hotel brands and the result was disastrous. Major hair fallout. I always travel with them now. And I recommend them to others. No idea why they work, but for me they do.

I tried both Olaplex no 3 and K18 and it was very interesting seeing the results. K18 didn't really work on my hair unfortunately but olaplaex did so much!

Minoxidil is toxic to animals, lots of peoples pets have died from coming in contact with minoxidil on their owners pillows/bedding. Make sure you mention that as pet ownership is pretty common in western societies.

Hi Dr. Ellis! I have a question for you in re: to this video! Does minoxidil have to be applied on clean hair? In the directions it says to do so, but at the same time, you mentioned in this video that you don't want to over wash you hair. Thank you!! I just started Minoxidil for chronic tellogen affluvium, but it’s sooooo expensive to use in my whole scalp I can’t even afford it so I’ll have to stop I guess. Can you show us how to put it on the correct way so it’s affordable? ❤

You can buy rosemary oil at GNC, just put a drop in your shampoo. Careful, too much may cause irritation or rash.

It's not good that you recommend using minoxidil just like that... Minoxidil is not for everyone and creates dependency, if you stop using it all the hair you gained is lost. It's important that people mention that in these kind of videos (which are supposed to be informative) so that not just anyone uses it.

I'm curious how one can talk about being happy or content with a specific product if they've been using more than one way to address their problem. What a waste of time. This vidrio didn’t even give me any tips on how to keep my hair healthy (aka not dead and dried out and frizzy), other than saying to trim it frequently and not shampoo too much or too little. Well, obviously.

I play with my hair all throughout the day. I do it without thinking about it. I was hoping it smoothed the cuticle and NOT that it causes friction! I am trying to have super healthy hair. I’m not sure I want to stop this habit but it does give me pause.

Good information, but a quick note that K18 is a temporary wheat based protein treatment using a peptide to help it reform the hair similar to keratin. There is a study from the 90s about cell adhesion with wheat proteins that they based the Khairpep brand on, aka k18.

Question regarding minoxidil and sebhorric dermatitis: I have been taking prescribed topical medication for the dermatitis, and my scalp cooled down from red to a faint pink in some areas. Is minoxidil safe for such post-treated scalps? I don't know if such scalps can be as normal as a regular scalp. :/

I never thought I would be heat ad a man but my hair is to damaged I. Need help. Because I have long curly hair anyway. First my face was in a fire so it burned lots of my hair my line is receded back and I'm only 23. Plus my shower was clogged because my nephews messed up all the plumbing. And so it got full of knots and since my hair is curly it breaks easily when I take off the knots, very 😔 sad. I've made my own rosemary oil and my own rice conditioner people love how soft and luxurious my hair is, my issue is I don't see a lot of hair coming back. Been to a salon and they've said they do see growth.
