I enjoyed your talk, but disagree heartily with many of your assertions. Though he was not the first one to broach the subject, St. Maximus the Confessor wrote a wonderful treatise on why souls DO NOT precede the body, nor the other way around. It comes down to Genesis and " God... breathed in his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul". The electricity you speak of is not the human soul, this "electricity" is God's Holy Spirit, without which a soul would be dormant! Each of us is a unique, non- repeatable human being - our bodies are not "just vehicles" but part and parcel of a full, complete human being - a Divinely inspired soul along with the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit. I have been reading about reincarnation in Hindu or Buddhists texts since I was a teenager, and it never made sense to me. I would submitted that Kabbalah is a novelty (a 13th century innovation, slanted to wards the mystical traditions of the East) and its precepts are foreign to Judaism itself... Would love to hear your response.

I am a Muslim woman and am happy about any constructive co-operation with my Jewish cousins. What is extremely worrying and stressful for me at the moment is the re-emergence of extreme neo-fascism in the country where I live. They even try to lure migrants with their semi-pseudo-spiritual (there are also borrowings from sectarian groups, such as Satanists) and pseudo-political propaganda narratives and do not shy away from violence against opponents (leftists, so-called non-similated citizens, etc.). What started out as annoying baiting is now bitterly serious and I hoped the society I live in would see this danger more clearly than it does now.
