Over here killing Margit within 50 seconds first try

By activating one of the teleport traps you can get send to the crystal mines and die a bunch. However once you escape into the swamp, hug the coastline below the city and you can get the "Rotten Stray Ashes". I found it by accident and later learned that its ability to stack ROT is insanely good for early and mid game, especially that git Margit or the T-Sentinel.

what i dont like is .. how would a noobie like me figure any of this out on my own.. i'd miss out on so much

Ok maybe its just the PlayStation version but I'm still taking poison damage even with the blessed dew talisman. It is going slower but still down none the less. It does not completely cancel it out.

I just started playing this. I barely have about 100+ hrs. I really don't understand the hype. The mechanics are nice and it looks stunning. However its boring. The boss fights are impressive but not super hard or damn near impossible as I've been hearing. That first "boss" i beat in 2 tries without the item that was shown here. I didn't even know that was a thing. I got that item after beating....rennalla(?) I don't remember how to spell her name. My only other experience with a "souls" game is bloodborne. I'm going to continue with elden ring because of visuals and the character development/leveling is my thing. Outside of that I'm not impressed at all. I mean these "souls" games (god i hate typing that) aren't the ones of it's kind. So I don't understand how it's so difficult for players. I'm 35 and I've been playing games since super Nintendo so maybe it's just an advantage i have idk.

Ngl I got elden ring with high hopes but I’m just not a massive fan. I really enjoy it and have respect for everyone that does but I truely believe Elden ring did not expand from its previous titles. It feels like it gave the same items a new name and picture and just chucked it into an open world. Like so many enemies have recycled attacks from bloodborn,ds1,2,3 and even demon souls

16 hours into my first playthrough and this has got to be one of the best games I've ever played. As a dark souls vet I may be a bit biased but even compared to some of the other open world rpg type games I've played Elden Ring still has them all beat by a long shot.

Margit's shackle is basically just Gascoigne's music box. Hardly even worth it as they only work in early phase.

Interesting thing is you dont need to even start that questline to find the catacombs because i found it and died 5 times before giving up without even realizing it was part of a quest until right this moment

Nothing is better than beating this game then looking up lore videos to see wtf just happened.

I’m 100 hours in and another video showed me something that made me feel so dumb. When you look in inventory at armor, or in equipment screen when you actually go to equip something and get the full list… there is a ‘view alternate description’ button that shows special effects on armor I never knew existed 😢

i accidently killed that npc at the first church and im still waiting for it to respawn (it wont)

I would add one minor comment. When talking about the number four tips requiring using emotes, you seemed to be pronouncing the word , "gestures," with a hard "g," so more like "guest yours." The "g" is actually a soft "g," so it is pronounced more like "jesters," with a "u" after the "t," i.e., more like "jest yours."

Do you best to 100% the region before fight the boss of that region. It is so much easier. According to the strategy guide each boss is scaled for that. So that is why if you B line the main quest and main bosses you will struggle as you would be fighting each boss extremely under leveled like most streamers.

Secrets are fun and all but I feel I’m gonna miss out on a great deal of them in this game. Hard enough to just spec/find weapons to do enough damage to bosses right now. Guess one of these secrets could remedy that problem, so here’s hoping I find some.

This is my first souls game and it's going to be my 100th platinum I'm loving it so far and I think I've watched this video 5 times already 😅

why you don't talk about this thing that all Dark Souls game and Elden Ring are highly inconsistent games within the side quests.
There is no solid understanding of what to do, where to do, with whom you need to speak, when you need to speak, what you don't need to do to avoid quest cancel

Without wiki and spending time of reading all this sh1% you can't understand anything - and it's very frustrating

I actually found the blacknife assassin in a totally different place and I've no idea why 😅

I have almost 700 hours in the game and some of these things actually helped thanks

My first ever soulborn game as well as PS5 game or any console. 20hrs in, started off as a beggar (that nude fellow) thought it might make up an extra layer of challenge.
Now I'm here, soul crushed, 0% progress. Avoiding all fights, but still constantly trying.
I truly love hate this game and wouldn't want it any other way.

I beat that mergit boss my third day playing lol without the shackle at that. I used those fire pots that you can throw at enemies. I have 5 i can use. Those 5 almost brings his health bar down to half or so if i remember correctly. Idk.. i find other bosses before this one more difficult.

This game literally tells you almost nothing.

For number 7, you can duplicate remembrances after you’ve already used one.

Spirit tuning isn’t just important

It literally lowers the difficulty of the game 😂

I got into the game late so there were guide’s already out so I did everything in my power to make the the bosses easier

Maxing my weapon upgrades for a op weapon and maxing the spirit that will help me

And holy shiet some of those spirits will literally take out the boss alone without your help

It made my first ever play through trivial 😂😂😂

I’ve never played a game from the souls series, I didn’t think I’d like elden ring. I thought it wouldn’t have been fun…… but boy was I very wrong. (Bosses are annoying though. Fun none the less)

Crazy to think it's already been over a year. Nd I'm just barley getting into it.

It's kind of odd Margit's considered brutal. I'm new to Souls games with Elden Ring... Like anyone I got destroyed a lot of times by the Tree Sentinel for instance but Margit I almost got first try (got caught off guard by his second phase hammer slam), then got him on the third try. I felt like his slow moves were much better telegraphed than the Sentinel for instance.

No shackles, nothing. Two-handed Bloodhound Fang's+1 and the base skeletal militiamen.
