My mother was a watchmaker for Rolex, roughly in the same time period as this piece. It was lovely to see you bring this back to life, and I was delighted to see you retain the history of the piece. You are an artist my friend. Peace be with you and your loved ones. :)

Thank you for respecting the piece. To me: anyone can by a Rolex... needs just the right amount of money and the availability on the market. But getting such a unique piece... priceless.

So the new owners wanted the inscription polished out? Is he paying for your repairs? He has no connection with the inscription and you said that he had bought it to wear and then to sell on. Did he agree to a 50%, or more, loss in his investment. I think a bit more of an explanation would be appreciated. Great work on the watch, by the way, very fine work.

Mullard made some of the best vacuum tubes the planet has ever seen. They are highly valued by those who enjoy tube amplifiers and command very high prices. There is a fascinating black and white movie on YT of the Mullard factory in the 1950s or 60s showing many of its tube Manufacturing processes.

The thing I love about watches is knowing that someone at some point meticulously put this together before it headed out In to the world seeing and experiencing things and stories only the owner will ever know.
