Family first for sure. Lockdowns snapped me out of the 50+hours a week and got me time to be with the family. Now I’m working and doing side work at home but get plenty of time with the kids.
Side note, I’m the guy who made that hammer for you. It working good for ya? I should make you a better one now that I know better lol
Smartest decision you could make! Be your own boss, but be a good boss and you make your time card work for you, buddy! Freedom is yours!
ОтветитьMike, I wore readers for years and I was much older than you are when I went and got Lasik eye surgery. It was money well spent and I still don't need glasses.
ОтветитьFinnegan not give up keep trying do you best Finnegan not give you Finnegan friend you get this Finnegan not give to be yourself Finnegan know Finnegan king be nice with you Finnegan just know about RodKill car is the best beautiful know just be yourself be nice to be smile Again
ОтветитьWas wondering where Newburn went, miss him, glad there's no beef. You both made the right choice. Family always comes first, and time you don't spend with them is time can never get back. And working from home brings it's own set of problems in separating work and family. You're doing the right thing.
Ответитьwe just all love you and your creations , no matter the time no mater all bussiness clause, we will follow you ...
ОтветитьI hope you stay with roadkill i like your humor you seem to be a real cool guy 😎 wish you luck in your future take care your family and your self. Burn rubber to next endeavor
ОтветитьHey Mike. Do what you have to do to find happiness and balance. No guilt at all.
ОтветитьSame thing happened to my eyes; I feel you on the readers.
ОтветитьI feel you. For 15 years I worked and worked and only took one vacation and a week off to go wheeling on May long weekend (Canadian thing) a year. Long and short of it is I missed out on too many important things, got burned out and messed up my health. And this is an all too common story.
If you drop everything keep Roadkill and this channel. Just one man's opinion.
I love Roadkill, but I do not watch the new stuff since it was put behind the Motor Trend pay wall.
ОтветитьYou do you bud....family is most important.
My mom passed recently and if I could go back and live those days where I told her I was busy and would come another time I would. You cant turn back time...once the time has gone you cant get it back, and you life off memories. Your kids deserve your time more than us...
Love your channel....keep it up when you can.
Scott from Canada
yer alright finn
ОтветитьDamn man, I was telling my wife this is the life I wanted. Lol guess it’s not doable
ОтветитьFrom what I've seen of Blasphemi just keeping that running is a full time job.
ОтветитьNow its just faster with
ОтветитьAdulting is hard! I completely understand your position, and pretty soon your kids will not be around, or may be just not want to spend time with you. Great job figuring out what is really important. I'm retired now, and it is so nice not having the pressure of constant deadlines and schedules to maintain. Good Luck!
ОтветитьMeanwhile the rest of us cannot walkaway, we have to keep going everyday just keep the lights on. Don't expect my sympathy.
ОтветитьBig Bore Cylinder engines are so cool I currently own a vehicle with 800cc in one single cylinder. The Suzuki DR800 S "Dr Big". It's about 55hp and it's got basically nothing to give under 3000rpm.
ОтветитьGreat video. Definitely important to have a work/life balance.
If you ever want to just get away to help a couple days a year on a race car we’d love to have you. (3sec new style challenger )
Big fan. Glad to hear your perspective
To the guy looking for the fonts, look me up I can help you out.
ОтветитьCool to hear you say that you don’t like the way you sounds.
I don’t like mine either and feel like it stops me from being on camera.
You sounds great tho!
Never once have I thought you sound off
912k subs now thats making bank $$$ off utube let alone the sponsorship on that is that a income and Declared. Irs
ОтветитьAwesome 👍🏽 respect that you are taking time to do more with your family and still doing things with car's and boats 👍🏽🤙
ОтветитьReally miss the show, especially since you were often at places I go to (Paradise), and it was my daughter's favorite show, but as a father of 2 I completely understand the decision. It was one of the reasons I stopped printing the magazine I started. Family is by far the most important. Dude, we have a ton in common. Gassers, Vettes, rat rods, hell, I'm even ordained. Glad you're good. -John
ОтветитьYeah man. When you have a job you go to work then leave work at work and go home. When you run a business, or a show, you go to work and never leave it anywhere. Especially if you run that business at home. It’s real easy to work all the time because work is never done and you’re already at work since your job is in your home. Forget burning the candle at both ends just chuck the candle into the microwave it’s faster. Mmm, smell the burnout. Anyway there’s no saying you can’t take a break and do something fun with it later. Maybe in a less intensive way. It’s a good decision to make more time for the family while there’s still time because time is always shorter than we think.
ОтветитьGotta live your life
You made the right decision bro
I am glad you are still doing roadkill and hot rod Garage is a lot easier on the eyes with Alex on there.
ОтветитьThank you for talking about it. I can totally relate to the burn out in my musician life, where I was always go go go, so even when I was here I was present. It probably cost my relationship with my wife.
ОтветитьWe all love you !
ОтветитьDude you gotta take care of yourself or you won’t be good for anybody else… Good call!
ОтветитьWhat ever happened to your taco you built long time ago. While you were an editor at minitruckin. Just found this
ОтветитьWell Mike, there was a maxi pad commercial for this episode. What's up with that?
ОтветитьThey could have just made new episodes as "Faster without Finnegan".
Ответить@FinnegansGarage Mike, you realized you were going down a bad path with a lot of repercussions. Knowing what’s involved in taking on a project isn’t the same thing as actually taking on those projects every day. I was a television producer/director and going into projects knowing you will be working up to 100 hrs a week isn’t as daunting as doing that for 6 months straight, having a couple of weeks vacation, and heading right back into preproduction becomes a never ending monster that consumes everyone and everything in its path. Friends forget who you are because they never see you, and family, well that is something that tears you apart every day when you realize you are disappointing your spouse and your kids. It took me a long time to say enough, but I did and never regretted stopping. Take care of you, your family and friends. You only get one shot at being with them.
ОтветитьAny chance you'd do 1 more show, and include your kids? I have the coolest car, 1968 Plymouth Fury 4 door sedan with 4 speed manual transmission. I'm planning get 650hp engine built for it, hoping you would tub and cage it? Tons of interior space, big back seat. The idea for the show would be to give kids rides in the backseat while doing a wheelies. A whole show of kids/adults expressions while pulling a wheelie?
ОтветитьYou should start a new show and call it Further-with-Flanigan.
ОтветитьRegardless of anything man family first I struggle with this also as I drive truck for a living home only 4 days a month kids are grown but I miss my wife and have no time to wrench in the garage it’s a rough to want your family time but got to make ends make I’ve watched roadkill for ever now you guys live my dream build garbage and push it to its limit and smile the whole way just do what’s best for you and yours man
ОтветитьMaybe just do what you love without the stresses of filming it? That's what most people do
ОтветитьIt’s weird when you think about it but I have been watching you since 2011 and seen your videos and your life on screen for a decade and more and the thing about you is that not only do you make great content but you are truly a great guy that’s so easy to like. Thanks for everything you do and it’s so understandable that you think about your own family and friends. We truly appreciate you
ОтветитьYour Family comes first!!!!! Nice work dude
ОтветитьTime is one thing no amount of money can buy! Never will get that back.
ОтветитьHow do I contact ALEX SAVAGE to purchase that M12 adapter?? I want two of them!
ОтветитьAs someone who's sacrificed "me" time so I could be the best parent possible, I couldn't imagine what it's like being away from my family for long periods. Good for you Mike!
ОтветитьThey killed it man. you have been my favorite tv personality since the first Roadkill episode. I have to say though it seemed like the builds wen a little smoother without you there, Roadkill curse??? hahahaha
Glad you are getting time with your family, kids grow up so fast and once they have and you missed it, there is no getting that back.
So am I.
You get everything you want and you walk away. Plenty of people can juggle a job AND a family.
Weak sauce Mike.
I would rather "Road Kill" went away than FwF. Sorry... Road Kill is, for the most part, IMO mind you, one of the most near-senseless and useless show ever known to cable/sat/etc. There have been a few "interesting" episodes. Aside from that, taking a bunch of junk and trying to make it run for various reasons -- for whatever reasons -- is such a waste of human time, money, and human resources, it is almost unbelievable. Then again, maybe I'm just way too practical and value life fort every second... especially considering it is so short. You Road Kill guys seem like decent folk... so no criticism to you as people. But when Road Kill and one or two other Motor Trend shows come on, well, sorry, Motor Trend goes bye-bye for a time.
Only my opinion... and yes, we all know what opinions are like! Nevertheless, I wish you guys well.
Mike, thank you for always being such a humble dude. I met you and freiberger at goodguys in Scottsdale a few years back and you guys were very kind to us. Family first man, loved the channel while it lasted.
